I just added a little bit about her putative mayoral aspirations and the progressive critique of Quinn. I realize this section could really use some links -- anyone else have them handy?
Decafdyke 13:07, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
I rewrote the opening paragraph to make clear an important point: Quinn is THE Speaker of the City Council; whereas the paragraph previously stated she was the "third speaker" . . . implying either the title of "Third Speaker" (which does not exist in NYC), or that she was the third person to hold the office (which is not true). The reference did not make any clear mention of her DISTRICT . . . (which of course is "3," and has no directly bearing on the office of Speaker). Mrjmcneil ( talk) 07:37, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Currently says "The third person to hold this office" so I guess it's true after all? Robinrobin ( talk) 03:24, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
I am aware that Quinn voted with Mayor Bloomberg and many others to voted overturn the publicly-voted decision to create term limits for NYC politicians. Had the limits remained, both she and Bloomberg would have had to wait a term, find other political niches, or (most likely) leave politics. She is a democrat, yet defied the people's democratic will, and, further, seems closely aligned with the Bloomberg, a pure-capital Republican.
Experience is that it is exceedingly difficult if not impossible to enter critical inquiry into pages that are protected by supporters, so in that case the path of least resistance would be to create an alternate page that is not perceived to be a threat to supporter POV, and go from there.-- John Bessa ( talk) 18:30, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
She went against the will of the citizens for her own benefit. We will never let her forget that. This is why she will never again get elected to a public office. Attention whore ( talk) 17:01, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Support for the NYPD's surveillance program on Muslim communities should be included. http://blogs.wsj.com/metropolis/2012/02/27/speaker-quinn-voices-support-for-nypd-monitoring-of-muslims/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.105.251.49 ( talk) 16:16, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
A lot of the information in Wikipedia articles is unsourced and unverified. I was reading the St. Vincent Ferrer High School article, which said that Quinn graduated from that school. I then proceeded to add that information to Quinn's article on Wikipedia. The edit was deleted, because the information was unsourced. I then proceeded to Google Christine Quinn concerning the high school that she attended. A web site popped up with the answer to my question. Quinn was asked what high school she attended. Her answer was, "Holy Child in Glen Cove."
You can verify this by clicking the following link:
Christine Quinn herself has said that she went to Holy Child High School in Glen Cove. This is verified information, and it's OK to add this info to her Wikipedia page.
Anthony22 ( talk) 15:35, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
You are absolutely correct; there is a lot of confusion on the Internet concerning the high school that Christine Quinn attended. A number of primary and secondary schools are named Holy Child. Quinn was born in Glen Cove, so it's logical to assume that she went to a local school there. There is a Holy Child School is Old Westbury, but there doesn't seem to be a Holy Child in Glen Cove. Who knows, maybe the school was shuttered or moved to a different location a few years after she graduated. The ONLY way to positively clarify this matter is to go directly to Christine Quinn herself. Since Quinn has already said that she went to Holy Child in Glen Cove, it's a moot point.

There is no reason to refer to Kim Catullo as Quinn's "wife". Or why not "husband"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.130.168.139 ( talk) 20:03, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

I think for yours it might be helpful to define some of the more difficult terms such as "slush fund" and possibly link it to an existing wikipedia article if one exists? Also, it seems that with a political article like this its hard not to sound opinionated almost. Were you instructed to refrain from the use of like news articles? I know that we were but I feel like it might be useful to use them for like political writing. I know some NY times articles/editorials are referenced which might be biased.
