How is this a stub?

Why is this marked as a stub? Is there really more that could be said about a castellan? If someone feels that way, wouldn't the article be better served by making note of such on the talk page or something like that rather than simply puting a stub tag up and moving on? There is quite a bit more to be said about castellans, their duties and responsibilities and regional variations. I'll get on it. LTC (Ret.) David J. Cormier ( talk) 20:00, 15 March 2015 (UTC) reply
Great to hear the article's getting some attention! Nev1 ( talk) 21:45, 15 March 2015 (UTC) reply

Merging with Castellany

Someone is proposing merging castellany into this article. I support that, since the castellany article is so meagre, and can easily be incorporated. LTC (Ret.) David J. Cormier ( talk) 20:00, 15 March 2015 (UTC) reply

The sentence "... they could be a valuable client" makes it sound like inanimate castles collectively might act as a single animate client. 24.143.10.145 ( talk) 18:47, 18 December 2016 (UTC) reply

Merging, edits and a bizarre redirect

The proposed merging of Castellany with this article took place without signalling it here. Nobody took the trouble to edit the poor un-encyclopaedic English beforehand and then someone made a redirect to the solitary Maltese castellany of Valletta: all rather unsatisfactory. I have tried to clean up, as best I can, but leave it to others to add sources.-- Po Mieczu ( talk) 22:20, 3 April 2019 (UTC) reply
