You may be right. My impression from the Effinger article is that the Black Legion was started as a subgroup of the KKK before Effinger took it over and imprinted his own crazy stamp on it, one that happened to be separatist from the KKK I believe. But yeah, that would definitely be a good thing to research, I just don't know that much about this and tend to focus on other articles. --
