Nekouzsky District ( Russian: Некоу́зский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [6] district ( raion), one of the seventeen in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,954.3 square kilometers (754.6 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Novy Nekouz. [1] Population: 15,688 ( 2010 Census); [3] 19,756 ( 2002 Census); [8] 23,931 ( 1989 Soviet census). [9] The population of Novy Nekouz accounts for 22.1% of the district's total population. [3]
