Golsar ( Persian: گلسار) [a] is a city in the Central District of Savojbolagh County, Alborz province, Iran. Golsar was created as a city out of two villages: Seyfabad-e Bozorg (سيف اباد بزرگ, "Big Seyfabad") and Seyfabad-e Khaleseh (سيف اباد خالصه, "Little Seyfabad"). [5]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the population (as the total of its constituent villages before the merger) was 11,013 in 2,775 households, when it was in Tehran province. [6] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 13,745 people in 4,103 households, [2] by which time the county had separated from the province and become a part of recently established Alborz province. [7]
