Explanation of sources
For posterity and to qualify the current maintenance tag, here's my reasoning behind the sources I used since their reliability may not be immediately apparent:
-
Bandcamp Daily, as explained in the linked subsection, is an online music publication that reports on Bandcamp artists and is run by a staff of experienced music journalists who have been published at notable outlets. In particular, the writer of the source cited, Yoni Kroll, has written about the Philadelphia music scene for
Vice[1] and
WXPN[2] among others.
- Splice Today is a pop culture and politics website founded by
Russ Smith, a long-time columnist and newspaper publisher. While their editorial process is a bit vague, they've published writing by a number of noted professional journalists, and the author of this piece, Noah Berlatsky, has bylines at
The Atlantic,
[3]The Independent,
[4]The Guardian,
[5] the
Chicago Reader,
[6]The Washington Post,
[7] and many others. On this basis, I believe both this and the Bandcamp Daily source qualify as
WP:RS and thus meet
WP:GNG requirements.
- The sources from Passion of the Weiss I'm not as married to, but the site does have a definite editorial staff and is run by a longtime
Pitchfork staff writer.
[8]
- The
BBC Radio 3 source I'm intending as an archival primary source - while it no longer has a recording of the show, you can scroll down and see Yotzeret Sheydim on the playlist for that day's broadcast, thus verifying that she was played on the program.
- The remaining Twitter and Bandcamp sources are purely primary material from the subject themselves, although I feel they are appropriately used in context.
