Christopher Volante Hinchliff is a British Labour Party politician. [1] [2] Prior to becoming a politician, he worked for CPRE, The Countryside Charity. [3]

Life

Hinchliff was educated at The Howard of Effingham School in Surrey and King's College, Cambridge, where he read history and was a member of Cambridge University Labour Club. [4] Afterwards, he studied for an MSc in ecological economics at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 2016. [4]

He was a Labour Party organiser before working for the charities Independent Age and CPRE. [4] Since 2022, he has been a Labour and Co-operative Party councillor for the Royston Palace ward of the North Herts Council, where he holds the position of Executive Member for Planning and Transport. [5] [6]

Hinchliff was elected as the Labour Member of Parliament (MP) for North East Hertfordshire at the 2024 general election. [7]
