American college football season
The 1989 Duke Blue Devils football team represented
Duke University as a member of the
Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) during the
1989 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by third-year head coach
Steve Spurrier, the Blue Devils compiled an overall record of 8–4 with a mark of 6–1 in conference play. Duke shared the 1989 ACC title with Virginia, which remains Duke's most recent conference championship; the Blue Devils last won the conference outright in
1962. Duke played home games at
Wallace Wade Stadium in
Durham, North Carolina.
