Zverinogolovsky District ( Russian: Звериноголовский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [3] district ( raion), one of the twenty-four in Kurgan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,400 square kilometers (540 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Zverinogolovskoye. [1] Population: 9,518 ( 2010 Russian census); [2] 11,755 ( 2002 Census). [5] The population of Zverinogolovskoye accounts for 42.7% of the district's total population. [5]
