Polovinsky District ( Russian: Половинский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [4] district ( raion), one of the twenty-four in Kurgan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,728 square kilometers (1,053 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo of Polovinnoye. [1] Population: 12,255 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 16,295 ( 2002 Census); [6] 17,123 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of Polovinnoye accounts for 37.9% of the district's total population. [3]
