Zuma is a Japanese Izakaya-style restaurant chain. Co-founded by Divia Lalvani, Rainer Becker and Arjun Waney in 2002, Zuma has 14 venues globally and 8 seasonal locations. The restaurant has three kitchens: the main kitchen, the sushi counter and the robata grill.
Becker developed the concept of Zuma while working in Tokyo, where he spent six years learning about Japanese food and culture. [1] In 2002, together with Arjun Waney [2] and Divia Lalvani, [3] Lalvani and Becker launched the first Zuma location in the Knightsbridge area of London. Its success led to its expansion to many cities internationally.
