Reason for creation

Due to the increasing number of students editing and the issues experience in India we as long standing member need to provide guidance to those who come and edit medical content. This page will help us coordinate our efforts.-- Doc James ( talk · contribs · email) 16:33, 27 November 2011 (UTC) reply

Help needed adding more "in progress courses"

Hi User:Ian_(Wiki_Ed), would you mind adding any Fall 2017 medical courses that you are aware of that we have missed? I added a new Fall 2017 heading to the Project Page. Thanks! JenOttawa ( talk) 01:23, 5 December 2017 (UTC) reply

@ JenOttawa: I added the others. I left out several classes that are focused on health policy and a medical humanities class (but I can add them if you're interested). Ian (Wiki Ed) ( talk) 22:07, 5 December 2017 (UTC) reply

Hi @ Ian (Wiki Ed): Thanks for taking the time to do this. It is very helpful. If any of the humanities classes or health policy classes are editing medical content, it would help to at least have them on our radar. We appreciate your assistance! JenOttawa ( talk) 01:26, 6 December 2017 (UTC) reply

Hi again User:Ian_(Wiki_Ed), I hope that your winter teaching term is going well. I noticed one new medical editing group and added them to the winter list. If you have a chance, would it be possible for you to share any others that you are working on? We can communicate this with WikiProject Med and hopefully help watch the articles. Are all the fall courses that you were involved with over, or do some continue on? Thanks!

@ Will (Wiki Ed): or @ Ian (Wiki Ed):, do you have a few minutes to share active medical editing courses in the spring section so we can help monitor the content? Thanks! JenOttawa ( talk) 02:31, 7 March 2018 (UTC) reply
Hi @ JenOttawa:. My apologies for the delay - I saw your previous note, but it forgot to follow up. I will get to this today. Ian (Wiki Ed) ( talk) 18:13, 7 March 2018 (UTC) reply
No problem Ian (Wiki Ed). Thanks for taking the time to do this. We look forward to seeing the student edits! JenOttawa ( talk) 18:18, 7 March 2018 (UTC) reply
I added the clearly medical courses. There are a lot of courses that might edit biomedical- or psychology-related articles (which is the way we track the classes that we required them to take MEDRS-related training modules), but most of them won't. As more classes get active, I'll try to update this list with classes that are actually editing medical topics. Ian (Wiki Ed) ( talk) 22:51, 7 March 2018 (UTC) reply
Thank you again Ian (Wiki Ed). This is very helpful. JenOttawa ( talk) 01:00, 8 March 2018 (UTC) reply

Profiling schools

There must be some way that we can better profile what particular schools do. I make pages such as at Wikipedia:Touro. These list events and media and are part of a category.

This page is currently a chronology, which is useful, but we should also present regular active partners like Touro as a model for what others can do. I am not sure how this should look.

Fall 2019 Update

Hi Ian (Wiki Ed), would you mind updating the Fall 2019 list on this page so we can be aware of upcoming activity? Thank you. JenOttawa ( talk) 13:30, 13 August 2019 (UTC) reply

I'd be happy to. Thanks for reminding me about this page! I'll get an initial list up next week, and do my best to keep it up to date. Ian (Wiki Ed) ( talk) 14:22, 13 August 2019 (UTC) reply
Thank you Ian (Wiki Ed)! This is super helpful. I look forward to following the students progress. Please do keep in touch with ways that the volunteers at Wikimedia Medicine can help support the article improvements. JenOttawa ( talk) 13:46, 14 August 2019 (UTC) reply
