I spent two days in St. Louis in 2002 trying in vain to find some "St. Louis style barbecue". Wikipedia has an article under that very title states "These foods are popular in the area around the United States city of St. Louis, Missouri", which I guess is technically true in that it says "the area AROUND" and not "in the city of St. Louis." After relating my inability to find BBQ in St.L to a native of that city, she told me that St.L was famous for its Italian food and she'd never in her life heard of "St. Louis style" barbecue.
I was wondering if there are some St. Louis natives out there who can clarify this, because currently Wikipedia has an article on what I believe to be a myth or urban legend, i.e., the spurious belief that there is any notable barbecue culture within the city of St. Louis. I just submitted a DYK suggestion on this article and there is a good chance that this Missouri related topic will appear on the front page. I'd like to see the article expanded a little more, particularly in the area of climate and viticulture but I'm running into a roadblock when it comes to finding reliable sources on the subject. Any help from the Missouri project would be appreciated. Thanks! Agne Cheese/ Wine 19:27, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
It has been stated that the article can be in featured article review. But, there's some problems with the references about his personal life. Any opinions if the article should stay at the rate it is? ThinkBlue (Hit BLUE) 17:50, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Riverboat Gambling isn't mentioned. Why? 129.41.227.162 13:20, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
I've added the Wikiproject Missouri tag to the talk page of Riverboat gambling, so hopefully it will be improved some. Grey Wanderer | Talk 00:54, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Can someone check edits to St. Louis Metrolink station articles made by User:12.74.157.98? I'm not familiar with St. Louis, but this user, whom I'm assuming is a novice, made a few edits that have turned out to not be correct. Another user and I have fixed some of the more obvious errors, but I'd rather see someone familiar with St. Louis fix the less obvious ones, if they also are erroneous. See Special:Contributions/12.74.157.98 for the user's contributions. dhett ( talk • contribs) 03:24, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Could someone please take a look at the Bertrand MO article. I have tried to add in an image of the city watertower, but I can not seem to get the image in a good position on the page. I am relatively new to editing pages and haven't fully gotten how to make all this work yet. Knowledgeum 07:08, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Just wanted to let people know about the creation of WikiProject St. Louis. Between that project and WikiProject Kansas City and WikiProject Columbia editors have plenty of options. Grey Wanderer | Talk 21:25, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
