Is anyone having troubles accessing certain records on Fold3 (eg [1])? I've tried different browsers and incognito mode, but no luck. Connormah ( talk) 15:34, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
I can't seem to access Haaretz English articles when accessing through the library. Apparently there's the same problem with the Hebrew site too via the library. Am I doing something wrong or is our access limited? I do seem to be able to see daily updates, but I believe the general public can as well by just going to the regular Haaretz site. Coretheapple ( talk) 14:28, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
Just to be a bit more specific: when I use the Wikilibrary link for Haaretz English, I am indeed able to obtain access to Haaretz English. However, I find that this does not give me full access to the articles on the site in most instances.
For instance. Going to the site through the library I can get full access to the article titled "Dancers Fleeing Fake Gunfire at Hamas' Nova Massacre Site? On the Set of Israel's Independence Day Music Video." Going to that through the public website I can only see an excerpt. In this instance the Wikipedia Library site is providing full access. That however is not usually the case.
For instance, if I try to access via the library "Analysis | Two Assassinations, Same Problem: Israel Didn't Think About the Consequences" I get the same limited excerpt I do through the regular public website. That is true for the vast majority of articles I attempt to access via the Wikipedia Library.
Is this a bug or is this simply Haaretz limiting access? Anyone know? Coretheapple ( talk) 14:44, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Clicking on the Wikipedia Library link for the English Haaretz, the lead headline is "Report: Hamas Accepts Gaza Cease-fire Deal; Israeli Officials Reject Prospect of War Ending." But when you click on the article, you cannot access more than the first few paragraphs. Coretheapple ( talk) 14:47, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
See above. Haaretz does not offer Wikipedia editors ANY advantage, at least in its English edition. One gets the same access as is available to members of the general public who are not subscribers. Thus its being in the Wikipedia Library package is a form of advertising that needs to stop. I raised this issue over a month ago, have received no response from the Wikipedia Library so I have to assume that this is a feature, not a bug. Coretheapple ( talk) 14:35, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
@ Coretheapple: Apologies for the lack of response here - I somehow overlooked your initial post and then I was attending the Wikimedia Hackathon and having some vacation time from 2nd May, so I've only just seen your email and the rest of the messages here. It's possible that Haaretz are embargoing content for a day or two before providing us access, but if that's the case it hadn't been communicated to us before now. It's also possibly a technical issue that we can resolve. We've contacted Haaretz and I'll update here as soon as I know more. Samwalton9 (WMF) ( talk) 13:51, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
For some reason, I haven't been able to access the Wikipedia Library, it says I have to have this account for 6 months and to have 500 edits, I mean it's kinda insane to have 500 edits tbh, I have only 100 something edits, and I had the account for what a month, 2 months now? Now, I'm not trying to be rude, you know. Just saying. How do you get 500 edits? Starixxgamerrix ( talk) 18:37, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
We really need institutional accounts with them. They've digitized a large number of books and other resources, but will not provide access to any that are still within the copyright period, except to libraries, schools, etc. that have accounts with them. This is intensely frustrating, since they have have books that Google has scanned (for no apparent reason) but will provide no access to at all not even snippet view, and which Internet Archive does not have at all. Repeatedly now, I have had to outright buy books (due to the near-total demise of inter-library loan in the US except within the same state) that I need for, say, 5 minutes to verify one thing. (Note: As a "GFYs" to the publishers and coalitions thereof filing these lawsuits against Internet Archive, I only buy said books used, so the publishers get nothing. I make exception for niche publishers who are uninvolved in these anti-fair-use legal shenanigans.) — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 15:01, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
I'm getting an error from springerLink:
"Page Not Found... Not logged in - 132.174.252.114 The Wikipedia Library Wikimedia Foundation (3004182381)"
Usually if the library logs you out it prompts for a re-log in, but this is happening a few minutes after the initial log in with no prompt to enter credentials again.

Able to log in but the avaliablity seems to have lapsed. DMT Biscuit ( talk) 00:00, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
There seems to be a problem with the subscription to Brill. E.g., I was able to access to this book [2] a few weeks ago, now it is not accessable except for the OA front matter parts. Austronesier ( talk) 10:42, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
