There is a generic conventions for geographic names. But that is not clear enough for places in Bangladesh. This arose to inconsistency in names and sometimes lead to various issues. That is why a WP:BDPLACE in conjunction to WP:PLACE was proposed in December of 2014 and I think it is time to adopt it. – nafSadh did say 18:52, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

say 22:17, 18 April 2015 (UTC)This guideline is derived from WP:PLACE to explains some localized nuances. It does not supplement aforementioned guideline. An important notion is, WP:BDPLACE distinguishes administratively defined territories from more natural localities.
It is unclear to me why this RFC was not announced at the talk page of the more general guideline, i.e. at Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (geographic names). The present draft guideline says that it is "derived from" the more general one, and therefore editors at the more general one might want to check whether it is derived correctly.
