I'm thinking about sometime in August, any ideas. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 04:22, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
What about the 13th? Jaranda wat's sup 18:44, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Instead the 10 or the 11, which is Friday or Sauterday, likely out of town after those dates. A good place for the meetup is in the Doral, Florida area. Maybe somewhere near FIU. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 16:27, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC is on the 12th which makes the 11th kinda tight. Okay.. not many people would go to both, but I probably would. 11th is also very short notice. :( If you set a hard date with at least a one week notice we can run a geonotice for it. So far it looks like geonotices are having a clearly positive impact on turnouts for other meetups.
My experience with other Wikipedia meetups is that having more notice is more important for turnout than having the best date. Two weeks notice seems to be the magic amount. -- Gmaxwell 22:03, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Go for it the geonotice, the best day in my opinion is Friday the 10th in the afternoon or evening, at Dolphin Mall, and there is a chance that I'll be in New York in the 12th, and may stop by for the picnic. Sorry about the date confusion. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 22:07, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Yea it is a little short of notice, maybe the 20th - 25th? so we have more planning here. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 06:23, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
I requested a geonotice here; maybe someone else will tag along to go to the Bahamas. ;-) · AndonicO Talk 19:26, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
I say this Sauterday, what about it. I'm back in town. Jaranda wat's sup 17:27, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
So... did you guys meet already or did the Miami meet never happen? - Jameson L. Tai talk ♦ contribs 22:00, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi, guys. I designed a WikiHelloBadge for the Nov 2007 NYC Meetup for anyone who wants to use it, so if people at other Meetups want to use it, feel free. The design is supposed to represent Wikipedians of every possible persuasion, at least symbolically. I made it a double image so that when you print it out, you can fold it in the middle and laminate it so that's it's double-sided (if you plan on hanging it instead of clipping it). I included spaces so that you can identify yourself by your real name, or your Wiki Username, or both, whichever you feel comfortable with. A high-res version of it is on its upload page. And if someone wants to use it at a Meetup in a location where a language other than English is spoken, feel free to modify the greeting into a different language! After all, it's in the public domain now, so all I ask is attribution! Cheers! Nightscream 17:08, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
OK... so I got an email saying that Miami 2 never happened in August... so uh... how about this one?
January should be far into the future enough that we could prepare a proper location... and January 19th should be Martin Luther King 3-day weekend, so as long as you have Monday off, you'll be OK. Any thoughts? Oh yeah I made a little box thing (ripped it off of the San Francisco meetup).
Personally, I'd prefer somewhere in Central Florida, so people from north Florida and south Florida would be traveling "equal"/similar distances to get to the meeting (that way we could potentially get more people coming). But I'm slightly biased on this since I'm IN Central Florida... lol. What do you guys think??

I like the Hard Rock Cafe, bars are a concern for the underage, as for the geonotice I may have to poke Gmaxwell in IRC, he's been mostly gone from the project since the Majorly RFA insident. Secret account 20:33, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

I won't be there. My wife and I have theater tickets for that evening. -- Donald Albury 13:02, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
(unindent)January 12th, since that's the date I sent the little blue box to everyone. I kinda knew that the geonotices were left unattended, so I sent that Miami2 box to WP:Florida and a couple people who I know are in my area. - Jameson L. Tai talk ♦ contribs 16:26, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
I could make it the 19th as well, it's a bit late, though, but so far only a few users signed. Secret account 21:37, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Looks like the 19th will work for me (it's the only Saturday for the next month that we don't have theater tickets in the evening). -- Donald Albury 22:58, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
I can make either date, but I think the 19th would be slightly better (as more people can come). Besides, it's the 11th, and we still haven't decided on a meetup location... · AndonicO Hail! 20:27, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Now that geonotice won't work, I guess spam every florida editor you could think of about this meetup, and I still agree on Bayside Marketplace. Secret account 00:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
OK, three days away, so where do we meet and what time? Is Bayside still on? If so, where in Bayside? It's been a number of years since I was last in Bayside, and I have no idea which businesses are still there (and that's supposing I can even remember what businesses were there then). -- Donald Albury 13:17, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Okay guys, I've got the cardboard ready, we know it's at the food court... but what about the time? The blue box says 3 PM, Secret suggest 1 or 2 (which would be better for me, since I have to run off a bit later in the afternoon). I think maybe we should decide quickly... · AndonicO Hail! 01:55, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
