• To bring about 10,000 article improvements and creations for India or India-related articles
• To destub a minimum of 1,000 articles for India
• To see existing article improvements for every state of India
• To debloat and fully source/verify existing articles which may be poorly written or sourced and improve the general quality of Indian articles
• To create new articles (but avoid short stubs), and ensure that all claims are sourced

The following contests are projected but not yet planned. The goal is to replicate the output and evenness of improvements shown in the Wikipedia:The Great Britain and Ireland Destubathon.

• The Indian Destubathon - a contest with prizes for the most article destubs, aiming to improve articles from every state of India
• The Tamil Nadu Destubathon - a contest with prizes for the most article destubs, aiming to improve articles from every district of the state of Tamil Nadu
• The Kerala Destubathon - a contest with prizes for the most article destubs, aiming to improve articles from every district of the state of Kerala
• The Indian Architecture Destubathon - a contests with prizes to destub articles on landmarks such as temples, monasteries, churches, mosques, palaces, museums, statues, hotels, all listed buildings and other notable buildings etc.
• The Great Indian Debloatathon - a contest with prizes for "de-bloating" and cleaning up poorly sourced and badly written articles on Indian articles, particularly on core topics. Aiming to cleanup articles from every state of India.

If doing destubbing work, you can check your entries using this tool before submitting here. The article readable prose, excluding sources and lists should be a minimum 1200 bytes (1.2 KB) and ideally 1500 bytes (1.5 KB) for a destub.

What would make it easier on this is if everybody programs their common.js in their preferences to contain:

Instructions:

1. Go into your preferences, click on the "Appearances" tab
2. Where it says "Shared CSS/JavaScript for all skins:", click "custom javascript"
3. Paste the command given above into that and save.
4. Now approach an article and look in the tools section on the left. You should see "Page size". Click that for each article and you'll quickly get a reading without having to paste text all of the time and look externally.
5. Look out for where it says, for example: "Prose size (text only): 1510 B (xxx words) "readable prose size" ". That's what we're looking for on this.

This originally began as a 1000 Indian cinema challenge. It was extended to 2000 but was merged into here in May 2020.
