16 rounds into 2006 some are happily planning september parties others well they are already thinking 2008 looks good. Anyhow back to the question
Should be easy: What do Barry Hall, Fraser Gehrig, Matthew Lloyd and David Neitz have in common? -- I@n 08:41, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
OK, hope this isnt too hard. Nick Riewoldt once listed the top 2 defenders that 'are on top of his list' in terms of how good they are. Who are they? J a s rocks ( talk) 09:05, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
We've already broached the opening of the 1990 season, and my ill-fated charter flight to Melbourne (although admittedly it is not in the same league as that of Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper). The following week I made a more usual trip down the Hume Highway (by Horseless carriage) only to see them thumped by the Eagles at the Western Oval, who Mick Malthouse had only just taken over as coach. Then I managed to see the third round game, this time against Sydney at the SCG. This win by the scraggers represented a few firsts: the first win by the Bullies since the failed merger attempt, Terry Wheeler's first win since taking over as coach, and something else... what was special about this Footscray win? ρ¡ρρµ δ→θ∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 07:14, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
I played 75 VFL/AFL games for two clubs 9 games with first club and 66 with the second (over 5 seasons). I was captain for my final 2 seasons playing 22 games, all of these where in my first season as captain. Who am I? Gnangarra 17:07, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
We know that Chris Grant debuted in the first round of 1990. As it happens, someone else debuted in that round three victory against the Swans, picking up a stack of kicks from the wing. He too was a skinny 17 year old kid from somewhere a little further west than Daylesford. He would go on to play over 150 games with the bullies before ending his career at another club. He was best known for being able to deliver the ball long and precise with either foot from the defensive 50 to set up many attacks. Indeed there were seasons when he was amongst the highest for kicks out of 50 and at the same time for kicks into 50. Had the ability to kick a goal from outside the 50. Who was that 17 year old kid? ρ¡ρρµ δ→θ∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 06:05, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
What event occured on the 21st October 1992 ?
Which AFL player has been on Dancing in the Stars and which clubs has he been at? J a s rocks ( talk) 09:46, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Yesterday West Coast def Adelaide, by 82 pts the third highest margin,
Gnangarra 01:14, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm, let me think, I should do something in keeping with the number 50 - perhaps I could mend some bridges. Who won the 1950 SANFL premiership and who did they beat? ρ¡ρρµ δ→θ∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 06:15, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

What was the first recorded year that Aussie rules footy was played in New Zealand? (ps. sorry Gnagarra, didnt see you answering). J a s rocks ( talk) 08:15, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
In 1983 a controversy developed regarding the legality of the then VFL's clearance system. That will make a good questione one day, but I like to explore what happened the following year. In 1984 Footscray decided to play some fun and games of their own and recruited a player from South Australia mid season outside of the proper processes. In hindsight it was an absolute waste of time, the player in question lasted no more than 5 minutes when he came on off the bench, and was quite possibly the slowest footballer I have ever seen in my life (my one and only recollection of him is chasing an opposition player who drew away from him with every bounce of the ball). He was not to ever appear again in the VFL - who was this mystery player? ρ¡ρρµ δ→θ∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 13:16, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Which current AFL player is married to a former World Champion Rower? -- Roisterer 05:43, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Of course the number 54 reminds us all of that momentous day 52 years ago. But, I have one more question to add to my collection of debuts by skinny 17 year old kids that would go on to become out and out champions - although in this case - I am not sure how skinny he would have been. He debuted in 1951 and kicked a goal with his first kick in league football, upon which the tough backman who was playing on him told him in no uncertain terms: do that again and I'll break both yer legs! He never played a game in the reserves for the whole of his 20 season career. Who am I talking about? πίππύ δ'Ω∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 06:47, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, this quiz is turning into a Port/Footscray speciality quiz, which isn't neccesarily a bad thing. Anyway, the number 55 reminds me of the first Port Adelaide player to transfer to the VFL. He debuted in the VFL in 1978 and played 55 games in an injury interrupted career before returning to Port to end his career. Who am I talking about? -- Roisterer 14:32, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
What was the name of the trophy that Fremantle and Essendon played for in the very early years. (and Pippi, of all the supporters, I thought a Bulldogs person would be the most patient... 51 years and counting... doesn't make 11 years seem that bad!) The-Pope 13:02, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
I have to admit, I shed a bit of a tear last weekend. We all know that Chris Grant broke the doggies' games record on the weekend, previously held by Doug Hawkins (1978-1994), who in turn broke Mr Football's record (1951-1970, non playing coach in 1971, with EJ jnr playing a year or two later for the remainder of the 70s). Ted broke the record of another great bulldog, who finished playing the year before Ted debuted. So in 4 players, we have an almost unbroken line of record holders from 1935 to the present day - and people try and down play the place aussie rules has in Australian history and culture! Anyway, who was this great bulldog that held the record which EJ Whitten broke? πίππύ δ'Ω∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 22:27, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
In their long and illustrious history, Fremantle has played for premiership points on fourteen different grounds. On how many of them have they won more than one third of their games? Snottygobble 01:16, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
I coached one VFL team for 415 games over 21 years with a top of the table coaches win-loss ratio of 66.99%. Who am I? -- I@n 02:55, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure how difficult this next question is: What was so special about Round 19, 1981 (of the then VFL)? πίππύ δ'Ω∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 03:13, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
