235 - V (another easy letter) Real life work still crushing me, but I had to get a few sourcings in. :) --j⚛e deckertalk 05:52, 1 October 2010 (UTC)reply

Try Gnews searches on Dave Jones Gurnsey rather than David, I found a couple, but it's not clear much of the article we have can be sourced, and some of that text might be problematic. Sorry I'm crushed with work or I'd follow through on this more myself. --j⚛e deckertalk 18:15, 14 October 2010 (UTC)reply
132 - It continually boggles my mind how comprehensive wikipedia is, even when the quality is imperfect. Among my recent sourcings for this month, I did
Jónas Kristjánsson, a scholar of icelandic sagas. I found a long bio in an Icelandic newspaper and some English references too. He is big in his field, but I would surely have died never having heard of him without doing this project.--Milowent • talkblp-r 13:52, 16 October 2010 (UTC)reply
That is awesome. I'm impressed, too, despite the weakness of machine translation in many ways, just how far it's come, that I can press a button in Google Chrome and say "autotranslate that page from Icelandic, thank you very much". It boggles my mind! --j⚛e deckertalk 18:08, 16 October 2010 (UTC)reply
Yes, Google translate is an amazing tool now. I also find it intriguing to decipher foreign language idioms that it will return. E.g., "the seventh art" for cinema in French (came up this week in sourcing
Audrey Marnay), which I guess a lot of people probably know. And that tabloid newspapers are called "Boulevardzeitung" (boulevard newspaper) in German, because gossipy newspapers were sold on the street and did not offer subscriptions.--Milowent • talkblp-r 01:04, 18 October 2010 (UTC)reply
116 - D is clear (apart from
Rick Duff which has a copyvio tag slapped all over it).--

Just wondering.... Who decides when this effort is closed, and a new month/year combo is started? --TiMike • talkblp-r 19:04, 24 October 2010 (UTC)reply
TiMike: Welcome! We usually kinda throw out some ideas and see what gets the most interest. As it turns out, you have great timing, someone was just asking which month we should tackle next on the Talk page to this one, head on over and let us know what you think! --j⚛e deckertalk 19:11, 24 October 2010 (UTC)reply
