Heimskr

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. The (justified) criticism has been met by the addition of a mention of this character to the target. The consensus is to keep. NAC. The Whispering Wind ( talk) 16:52, 9 March 2014 (UTC) reply

I still haven't played Skyrim, but since the subject isn't mentioned at the target page, I'm guessing Heimskr is a minor element in the game. I came across this redirect after looking for "Heimskur," an Icelandic concept ( ref). I don't know if it could plausibly be spelled this way, or if it's even worth an article, but regardless, this redirect doesn't seem helpful. BDD ( talk) 23:33, 27 February 2014 (UTC) reply

  • Keep BDD, you don't seem to know anything about TES Universe. Heimskr is one of the most hated characters in all the games, and, yes, he's in Skyrim. He cries and cries and is insanely annoying. So, when people say "who is that guy?" and don't know about TESWiki, where I edit a lot as Ned1230, then they look on here, and are redirected to Skyrim. Here's a link [elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Heimskr].[Oh yeah, by the way, it's Nedgreiner, I just forgot to login. That's a bit harsh, don't you think? I've played Morrowind and Oblivion obsessively. I don't know much about Skyrim, but I've already admitted as much. -- BDD ( talk) 17:16, 3 March 2014 (UTC) reply
  • Keep Heimskr is a well-known NPC in Skyrim and and everyone who follows the main quest will encounter his religious raving on the Talos controversy. While likely not notable, the character is verifiable and the search term is plausible. -- Mark viking ( talk) 20:09, 1 March 2014 (UTC) reply
But Mark, if he isn't mentioned at the article, all we're really saying is "Heimskr has something to do with Skyrim." How many readers searching for this term do you suppose will not already know that? -- BDD ( talk) 17:16, 3 March 2014 (UTC) reply

  • Keep. I don't play video games at all, but if this is a character however minor and there is no better target then it does no harm to keep it, assuming that it is in the game at the target. The personal remarks against BDD were harsh and unwarranted. Si Trew ( talk) 10:44, 4 March 2014 (UTC) reply
  • Keep can someone find the voice actor for this guy (the Skyrim Wikia doesn't have it) and then add his entry to The_Elder_Scrolls_V:_Skyrim#Voice_cast? I'm pretty sure his voice is very notable in-game. Besides, doing so would at least justify the redirect even better. -- Lenticel ( talk) 03:14, 6 March 2014 (UTC) reply
That would be good, because then he'd be mentioned on the target page, at least. His voice actor isn't listed on IMDB either, though there are several voice actors without roles specified. The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages wiki has him in a category suggesting he's voiced by one of the usual male Nord voice actors. Does that sound right? -- BDD ( talk) 17:26, 6 March 2014 (UTC) reply
I did some digging at it seems that Michael Gough blessed us with the annoying voice of Talos. The ref is IMDB though an our article's entry has no Skyrim reference as well-- Lenticel ( talk) 01:55, 8 March 2014 (UTC) reply

Argentina does not use Cyrillic and my guess would be a person in Russia or Serbia that does use Cyrillic will be using the Russian or Serbian Wikipedia. Even a tourist in Argentina who uses a Cyrillic alphabet will surely go to their own language's Wikipedia. The article is properly Interwiki linked here at RU:WP and here at RUE.WP for example, so as an outsider typing those terms into an external search engine they are likely to find a couple written in Cyrillic, and if they then really want to come to the English Wikipedia then they can do so via the Interwiki links on the left hand side, as Thryduulf implies, otherwise we end up adding redirects to every possible article in Cyrillic... and then do so for Arabic and Sanskrit and Bopomofo and Devangari and ancient English Runic and Morse Code and so on... which is absurd.
