Wikimedians of Indiana is partnering with the Indiana State Fair to provide FREE fair tickets for Wikipedian editors!

 What: Indiana State Fair Wiknic When: Sunday, July 30th from 10am–? We have been gifted 20 free tickets by the Indiana State Fair! You do not need to be an editor already, but free admission is intended for those actually participating in this project with us. To claim, you must:
- Meet us at the
Deaf School Gateway outside the 42nd St. fairgrounds entrance
- This is north of 42nd St., on the opposite side from the fairgrounds, if you follow the Monon Trail about 200 feet from the crossing. (see map)
- Participate in Wikipedia training/planning beginning shortly after 10 am
- We will meet for 30–60 minutes until everyone has a Wikipedia account and basic training, to earn your free ticket
- We will cross into the State Fair together around 11 am, but you are not required to stay together all day.
- The goal will be to take pictures to document the fair, upload pictures to Wikimedia Commons, and edit articles related to the Fair and things found there (historic buildings, foods, animals, activities, etc.).
- Please note, while the fair does not prohibit laptops, you cannot bring a bag wider than 12 inches on any side. That's why we will be primarily working on our cameras and phones, or tablet if you bring one.
- Post your accomplishments here after your done!

Please sign up on Eventbrite, and include your email address so we can send your fair ticket to you. Advance registration is preferred to ensure we have enough tickets!

Work on documenting all structures, events, animals, foods, etc. This walking tour is a good resource. [1]
Some possible editing tasks to work on:
- Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center should be split off of current Indiana State Fair, so there are separate articles for the annual event and for the fairgrounds as a year-round event center
- Hook's Drug Store Museum
- Indiana State Fair Commission
- Indiana State Fair Hot Air Ballon Race - possibly notable for standalone article? (Annual event since 1975)

- Glory and Gold Sweepstakes - [4]
- pork tenderloin sandwich, funnel cake, etc. - articles exist, but no mentions or photos of being staple fair foods
- elephant ear (pastry), lemon shake-up, roasted corn, sirloin tips, cider slush - Some iconic fair foods with no articles [5]
