Biographies of women

Hi there, Jaireeodell, and thank you for creating several biographies of women. If you intend to continue along these lines, you might find it useful to become a member of WikiProject Women in Red where we are trying to improve coverage of women on Wikipedia. You can sign up under "New registrations" on Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/New members. Happy editing!-- Ipigott ( talk) 07:22, 25 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Thanks. Good to welcome you aboard. We have a close relationship with Women in Religion and I have personally tried to help the project along since its rather tentative beginnings. It's good to see you intend to continue creating biographies in connection with religion, arts and education -- three key sectors of interest. We have a strong focus on education throughout the year. I realize you are a highly experienced contributor but if you have not already done so, you might find it useful to look through our Primer. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance.-- Ipigott ( talk) 13:59, 25 January 2024 (UTC) reply

You appear to have uploaded this file while leaving a speedy deletion tag on it. I understand that you uploaded this under a fair use claim, and the corresponding article is in the Draft namespace. Because of WP:NFCC#9, we can't keep fair use content that is only used in the draftspace.

Would you like me to delete the file now based on your speedy deletion template, or would you like me to give you 7 days to get the article into the mainspace before the file gets deleted by a bot? — Red-tailed hawk  (nest) 01:44, 4 February 2024 (UTC) reply

Hi @ Red-tailed hawk Thanks for the note. This is the first time that I have tried to use an image with the fair use tag. Next time I will create the article first. The speedy delete template was added because I selected Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial (or its, confusing, near equivalent) from the dropdown menu. The journal, the subject of the article, uses CC BY NC for a license. Next time I won't select that. I just moved the draft to mainspace at Journal of Anime and Manga Studies. I think it's ok to delete the speedy deletion template. -- Jaireeodell ( talk) 01:49, 4 February 2024 (UTC) reply

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Journal of Anime and Manga Studies until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{ NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 00:49, 28 November 2023 (UTC) reply

Hi @ Ipigott. Sure, I'll join. I guess I figured they had a lot of help. I've been participating in Women in Religion ... which is sort of an an off-shoot of Women in Red. Thanks for the nudge. -- Jaireeodell ( talk) 13:39, 25 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Sounds good; I've removed the tag. — Red-tailed hawk  (nest) 01:53, 4 February 2024 (UTC) reply

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:JAMSLogo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use.
