Questionable copyright status. The files were uploaded with {{ PD-USGov-Military-Navy}}, but without sources. After investigating a bit, Dual Freq ( talk · contribs) found the source at http://www.ussreeves.net/images_hp/indexmb1.htm, which does not indicate that the files are public domain or that the files were created by the US Navy. In fact, there is an all rights reserved copyright notice at the bottom. Until we can be sure Wikipedia has permission to use these images, these files should be deleted. Keep. We've changed the leopard's name but not its spots. Schellman loop contained the image File:HbondArr.pdf which was speedy deleted WP:CSD#F1 because it was redundant to the current file. [1] The link to the first file was removed from the article because the file had been deleted. [2] Now the current file is requested for deletion as "unused, no foreseeable use". @ RHaworth: Not really because if I recall, the other image, I believe, had a fair-use claim and I believed that it was replaceable with a free version. This nominated image claims to be released with a free license by its uploader, so unless there is copyright infringement that can be proven (possibly by looking at the deleted file), I cannot make the same claim here. If the file also was uploaded under a fair use claim, then it is necessary to take a look at that file and check if there is contradicting copyright information. If the copyright information is wrong, then the file information page needs to address this properly. User:Steel1943: If two files have conflicting copyright information, it is typically better to list both files together in a section at PUF/FFD instead of tagging one for deletion per WP:F1 so that it more easily can be determined if the file is free or unfree. @ Stefan2: I honestly don't fully remember what happened with my tags/edits on these. I think I may have thought that this image was copyright infringement since it looks like something that came out of a textbook, and the fact that it is a PDF file, a common extension for scanned images (at least that's my thought at this point.) I looked at the deleted image. Both files were uploaded by User:JamesMilnerWhite, but the deleted file lacked a license, which was most likely an honest oversight by the uploader. If you're looking to assign blame, User:Steel1943 tagged the correct file for speedy deletion, but probably should have swapped out the image first. User:RHaworth definitely shouldn't have deleted the file while it was still in use, since WP:CSD#F1 applies only to unused duplicates. Keep: The file is used in the section, Television adaptations of Marthandavarma (novel), to identify the one which has a different title, with a prefeix Vīra to Marthanda Varma than to the two out of three adaptations, though it has been referred without the prefix among the public. The file File:Veera Marthanda Varma TV Serial.jpg, depicts the representation of the prefix, which is shown in smaller size than to the later part of the title, such a variation is not possible to depict in this section without the usage of an image. Keep: The file File:CV Charithrkyayikakal Sampoornam.jpg is used in sequels section of Marthandavarma (novel), where it has been narrated that subject title is also released along with the successive titles under a different label, Si. Vi. Rāmanpiḷḷayuṭe Caritṟakhyāyikakaḷ Sampūṟṇṇaṁ, in line with the common references of the trilogy (as discussed in the same section), which is scripted on the cover art. The inclusion of file in the section help the readers to identify the new label, which is not in Latin script, and have better understanding about common usage of trilogy labels (though there are three, with different meanings) related to the subject of the article. It has already been stated in the article how the programme sheet commemorates the 375th foundation day of Chennai and how the postal cover was the first ever commemorating Madras Day. This, I believe, highlights the importance of these images in the article fair enough. Moreover, I've already specified in the fair use rationale how the programme sheet does not carry any copyright notice. I had added a fair-use tag and not a "public domain" only because of the lack of copyright information not the presence of it. The publishers, I assume, will only be too happy if it was put up in Wikipedia.
