I am requesting to change my user name by simply adding an accent on the last letter in my last name. My last name is French and so without the accent mark many Americans think ill. I apologize. I need to have it read SylviaDouché. I do not want my account to be blocked or deleted as I mean no harm. Could someone please inform me of how this works and when my name will be updated?
This process works like thus: a
bureaucrat will examine this request (it may take some time), then perform the rename based on the merits of the request. You will know when you've been renamed as you will be logged out in the process; simply sign in with the new name and your password the next time you come on. -Jéské(

It is difficult... but I made Pjetter premature to a global account, as I thought namechange from Londenp to Pjetter was made already and then because of SUL I entered en.wikipedia.org from another account where namechange was already done when this new account Pjetter was made automatically because of sul again. So I had a steward remove my global account on meta, but now this is removed, so you can go forward with the namechange. Thanks (

This is not a promotional-related request, as I'm not asking for spectraldesign.net, spectraldesign.com, spectraldesign.ca, etc... I have been a contributor to Wikipedia for years and have not abused the site, and in my opinion this request does not supersede any policy. (For what it's worth, my website (spectraldesign.net) is non-commercial, and I have no interest in generating traffic to it.. it's only a personal site for the fun of it.
