  • Keep The category should be more specific. It should not be deleted, for it contains single article. The article under this category, Marchuwa (currency), which is used by the Kingdom of Damot as well as Kingdom of Wolayita (that's why it is under the category Category:Currencies of the Kingdom of Wolaita, though the discussion is archived). Yes, its parent category is Category:Currencies of Africa, for Wolayita and other Kingdoms that used Marchuwa as a currency were African. But we should not forget the subcategory more specifies the article. There were plenty number of Empires and Kingdoms under the Africa continent, even in Ethiopia, but there are very little pages in the Wikipedia. It needs more attention. Keep, keep and keep. We have little on Damot, but the way to solve this problem is not to create categories that group nothing, but to do more research to find more information.   • Oppose As I have said consistently, in American English usage this is the proper common name, well unless you want us to go to making this Category:Panamanian doctors (medical), which might be a bit closer to the common usage, where they are normally just called doctors but we need some disambiguation, but I think most people would agree that that is just an ugly looking and needlessly long way to do it.   • Support — JPL has been consistently wrong. For goodness sake, the parent is Category:Physicians by nationality. Yes, lazy Americans often call anybody in the medical field "doctors". Or anybody with a PhD "doctor". But nobody calls them "medical doctor".

  • Your statement here is needless rude, provocative, and just plain wrong. It is not a sign of "laziness" to call people doctors, that is the common usage in the United States. People do say medical docotr. My search for the term, in quotes on google with in America added on without quotes produced over 5 million results. Here is one of the early ones [1]. How this compares with the level of the use of the term physician is harder to analize, but your claim that no one says medical doctor is just plain false.   • The wording "call" and "calls" refer to using the term in everyday spoken conversation. JPL points to an online salary discussion, where MD may well be used to distinguish from DO, JD, LLD, PhD, etc. Wikipedia's policy is WP:COMMONNAME. Presumably, we are not explicitly excluding DO. Moreover, we are not specifically including psychiatrists, who are also MD.

In this case it is a specific genocide that is being denied, the ethnicity/nationality of the people doing the denying is not relevant to the category.   • Comment I still think these are OPINIONCATs and ought to be deleted. Among the issues presented is at what point deniers deny. Presumably, by pleading not guilty in various trials, all issues including whether the genocide took place, whether it was a genocide even if it did, etc., are all denied by the defendants and thus put in issue. Some people are, no doubt, notable for belonging to groups espousing denial of these events, and are better categorized there than here; and these need to be purged of people who are perpetrators (also better categorized elsewhere). (The award has also been given to Chinese generals, all of whom are already well categorized somewhere under Category:Chinese generals.) The Morgan Prize is a US$1,200 prize for an undergraduate students doing research in mathematics and I'm sure the award is initially defining for those promising young students. But Wikipedia doesn't have articles on promising young students. By the time these people are notable, the award is no longer defining and only gets mentioned in passing in the education or honours section, for example with Manjul Bhargava, Ciprian Manolescu or any other article you want to click on.   • Comment I still think these are OPINIONCATs and ought to be deleted. Among the issues presented is at what point deniers deny. Presumably, by pleading not guilty in various trials, all issues including whether the genocide took place, whether it was a genocide even if it did, etc., are all denied by the defendants and thus put in issue. Some people are, no doubt, notable for belonging to groups espousing denial of these events, and are better categorized there than here; and these need to be purged of people who are perpetrators (also better categorized elsewhere). (The award has also been given to Chinese generals, all of whom are already well categorized somewhere under Category:Chinese generals.) The Morgan Prize is a US$1,200 prize for an undergraduate students doing research in mathematics and I'm sure the award is initially defining for those promising young students. But Wikipedia doesn't have articles on promising young students. By the time these people are notable, the award is no longer defining and only gets mentioned in passing in the education or honours section, for example with Manjul Bhargava, Ciprian Manolescu or any other article you want to click on.
