- Nominator's rationale: Upmerge "Event types" are a mixed bag, with everything from invasions to withdrawn drugs to electrical and electronic engineering grouped as events. The "by war" subcat is nominated for deletion below, and I've added a couple of parents to the "by revolution" subcat. There are, however, some articles which may get orphaned if we simply delete. I've added medical timelines to the withdrawn drugs list, but there's there still more sorting to do. I suggest an upmerge for now, so nothing gets lost. - Rationale of category creator: category is based on similar list for the DAW Ableton Live, seen here: Category:Ableton Live users. Per Pichpich, I feel some sort of place where notable users of FL Studio can be collected is pertinent, but not necessarily in category form. If consensus considers deleting the category, I believe the same logic should be applied to the Ableton Live page, it would be silly to delete one and not the other. (I also personally feel that interesting inferences can be drawn from analyzing a community of FL Users, as its relative cheapness could mean it's used more by certain demographics and therefore genres, etc. I could go on at length, but I'll shut my trap for now) MusicLover650 ( talk) 18:53, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
- Delete: There is a pretty good list of notable users on the FL Studio page. It's updated somewhat frequently and there are specific criteria for inclusion on that list. - Rationale of category creator: category is based on similar list for the DAW Ableton Live, seen here: Category:Ableton Live users. Per Pichpich, I feel some sort of place where notable users of FL Studio can be collected is pertinent, but not necessarily in category form. If consensus considers deleting the category, I believe the same logic should be applied to the Ableton Live page, it would be silly to delete one and not the other. (I also personally feel that interesting inferences can be drawn from analyzing a community of FL Users, as its relative cheapness could mean it's used more by certain demographics and therefore genres, etc. I could go on at length, but I'll shut my trap for now) MusicLover650 ( talk) 18:53, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
- Delete: There is a pretty good list of notable users on the FL Studio page. It's updated somewhat frequently and there are specific criteria for inclusion on that list. - Delete – the entire tree Category:Suicides by occupation should also go, on the same grounds. Editors seem to delight in forming these intricate structures, gathering together articles to no end whatever. (I am assuming that each person who committed suicide is already included in one of the other suicide trees in Category:Suicides.) Category:Ancient people who committed suicide is perhaps not optimally named. Category:Suicides by hanging in Italy - good grief. Category:Suicides by hanging in Montana!! - Nominator's rationale: Delete. Overcategorization per WP:OC#PERF. Members of a production crew are not literal "performers", but it is analogous to this type of overcategorization. With very few exceptions (e.g., for producers and directors), we don't categorize people by being a member of the production crew of any T.V. series or film. I suspect the name is somewhat POV, given that "freedom fighter" is often regarded as the flip side of the "terrorist" label.
