Function overview:Replacing invisible space characters in short description templates
Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Automatic
Source code available: WP:AWB
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): request, WP:MOS, discussion
Edit period(s): OTR to start, potential future runs if there turns out to be a recurring issue
Estimated number of pages affected: ~3500 based on the dbase report
Namespace(s): Article
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): Yes
Function details: Fairly straight-forward find/replace of any whitespace that isn't a standard space, replacing it with a standard space.
As a note, I ran this manually through my own account on AWB as a proof of concept (wanted to make sure AWB could handle the various whitespace types). Primefac ( talk) 13:24, 1 March 2024 (UTC) reply
Approved. Appears to work as advertised. I note that AWB genfixes seem to be being applied, even though that's not mentioned anywhere in the details. I also hope that you're using the same definition of "whitespace" that the database report is using (which appears to be the first table at Whitespace character#Unicode), and in particular not replacing various zero-width space-like characters (U+200B, U+200C, U+200D, U+FEFF) with a normal space.
