This is a vote on what option or options could be added in the poll regarding the naming of the
Ireland and
Republic of Ireland and possibly the
Ireland (disambiguation) pages. The order that the choices appear in the list has been generated randomly.
From the 1937
Constitution of Ireland: "The name of the State is Éire, or, in the English language, Ireland". See also
State.
G: Ireland (republic)
From the 1948
Republic of Ireland Act: "It is hereby declared that the description of the State shall be the Republic of Ireland.". See also
Republic.
Procedure for voting
Please vote using
PRSTV (i.e. rank your preferences in order e.g. "A, B, C, D, E, F, G")
To do this you may use the template * {{stv-ballot|A=0|B=0|C=0|D=0|E=0|F=0|G=0|~~~~}} — Select it from the asterisk to the two curly brackets and Copy, then Paste when you go down to the Balloting Area below. To make your vote, simply put the number (X=1 is your most favourite, Y=7 is your least favourite) with the appropriate letter.
You are not obliged to express a preference for any of the options that you do not wish to support (or have no preference about); it is easiest to leave the number as zero, i.e. Z=0, rather than deleting the letter.
Sign and date your vote but do not append any comments to your vote; they will be removed.
Voting will end at 21:00 (
UTC) of the evening of 1 July 2009 (that is 22:00
IST and
BST).
A member of the ArbCom committee will adjudicate the result of the vote
Results of the vote will yield two (or possibly three if the numbers clearly warrant it), options which will appear in the main poll associated with this project. In practice two options will add three options to the current draft of the main poll. Three would add six options.
Procedures for dealing with fraud:
Unregistered users may not vote (to prevent fraud) but may contribute comments.
Votes by sock puppets or meat puppets (and their masters) or similar will be removed from the balloting area.
The following poll is CLOSED as of 21:00 (UTC) on 1 July 2009. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The above is preserved as an archive of the poll. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

What's wrong with my signature? Why do I have to sign "rannpháirtí anaithnid"? My vote is the one below Willski72's vote. Something is seriously wrong.

(
edit conflict) Yea! That weirded me out for a second. There was a bug in the tempalate. I've fixed it now. Could you resign your ballot using four tildes? Thanks.
Also, thanks Jza84 for the bug testing too! I guess we must tell people not to substitute the template!! --rannṗáirtí anaiṫnid (

What's with all the invisible characters in this
vote? They don't show up on the page, but they're in there when you try to edit the ballot section.

Other way around, *don't substitute* the template (it won't *really* but that the code from the template itself). --rannṗáirtí anaiṫnid (
