01:22, 7 August 2023 review of submission by QuarkyTale
An article on a non-profit organization improving visibility of women in robotics and inspiring young girls and non-binary people to pursue the field and a career in STEM, was denied that it is not notable enough. Please advise on what is notable enough to be in local news but not Wikipedia.

I recently updated media coverage from local news channels but unable to submit for another review on notability. How to proceed here?

Hi @
QuarkyTale. As your article has been rejected, the only way forward is to appeal directly to the reviewer. I've courtesy pinged @
S0091 for you.
@
QuarkyTale the sources you added are still largely what those affiliated with the organization say about it and/or about women in or entering the field generally. Also note Medium is a
blog so not a reliable source. At this time, they simply do not meet the notability criteria.

Dr.muneeb12: just to clarify, your draft got declined (not rejected) because it is unreferenced, and therefore has no evidence that the subject is notable. You need to cite your sources, see
WP:REFB for advice. --

Thanks for the reply. As per the article, I have given reference of international journals, web, BBC. I do have references like hull daily and liverpool echo. Can i mention them as well?

@
Dr.muneeb12: you haven't provided any references; the draft does have some inline external links, but they are not the same thing (not to mention that they are actually not even allowed). Once again, please see

Thanks Again! I have provided them now with full details. Can you please have a look?
Please note that Wikipedia is not interested in what the subject of an article says or wants to say about themselves, or what their associates say about them. Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject, and who have not been prompted or fed information on behalf of the subject, have chosen to publish about the subject in
reliable sources.

Unfortunately your submission was rejected which means it is not suitable for Wikipedia at this time. If you want to appeal directly to the reviewer you can, but having had a read of the article I don't think it would be accepted. You have also fallen into the trap of
Wikipedia:Citation overkill.
I would probably suggest you merge some of the contents into
Ring of Honor (there's already a small section) - I don't think there is enough there for it to requires a whole separate article.
Hello I need your expert advise on Draft: John Kirams actually I am new user I tried to write this page and submit but it gets rejected but now I add some new references but these references required subscription to see that old articles of 70s can you please check that references are these references are suitable to be publish or the Subscription references are useless for wikipedia??? can you please check that is that article is good to go for mainspace? or it need more details references?

Could you pick out the three references which are 1) independent of John, 2) from reliable sources, and 3) give significant coverage to John and offer analysis or interpretation? These three references will help us deem if he meets
Wikipedia:Notability (people) criteria. Note that the notability criteria is quite strict and only people who pass the criteria stated in that link can have Wikipedia articles.
I've also noted some strange grammar in your draft: "he write a book" instead of "he wrote a book" and "He complete his" instead of "He completed his". Please read
Wikipedia:Manual of Style which explains how you should write, including
tenses, in a Wikipedia article.
Ok did you check the Newspaper archives references and California Digital Newspaper reference did you think these references are important as reliable source for this page? can you help me to improve with this references. it will be great help. and I will fix that grammar errors. Thank you

Well, I'm asking you to give me the three best references that meet those three criteria I listed above. Is one the California Digital Newspaper? What are the other two? Could you please directly link them here or provide the full citation? Qcne(talk)19:15, 7 August 2023 (UTC)reply
1) The AV Times is a useless source as it a promotional interview (a profile, as the paper states) with John- this means it is not
Wikipedia:Independent sources which was one of the criteria I asked for.
2) Unfortunately I don't have a subscription to newspaperarchive.com. I asked for *one* article- are any of the 2 or 3 you mentioned independent of John (not an interview) and discuss him in detail?
3) Again, which article in this Library search are you referring to? I see that Quest for postal recognition: Online firms' confusion of Foster City with San Mateo offends local pride, official says states Vice Mayor John Kiramis - which contradicts your assertion that he was a mayor! Likewise Neighboring levees hold key to flood insurance states Foster City Council Member John Kiramis. These both seem to be passing mentions of John, and so do not seem to meet my third criteria that the sources must "give significant coverage to John and offer analysis or interpretation".
I'm going to ask you again:
Please provide direct links or full citations to three and only three sources that are 1) independent of John (NOT an interview), 2) from reliable sources, and 3) give significant coverage to John and offer analysis or interpretation. Qcne(talk)19:37, 7 August 2023 (UTC)reply
@
Ab.Haris999 just looking at the first one, it is
primary (not
secondary) and not independent as it is almost entirely based on what he says (directly quoting him or things like "Kiramis said", "He would like", "He says") so is not a useful source for establishing notability.

@
MollyPoppy0912 you will need to find sources yourself, the sources you find should meet the guidelines listed at
WP:GNG. If you cannot find such sources, an article on 'Mattel creations' would not be suitable for Wikipedia. — Karnatakatalk21:11, 7 August 2023 (UTC)reply
If you are asking for help finding sources, then you have almost certainly written the draft
BACKWARDS, a mistake many many inexperienced editors make. It is like building a house and then asking "Will somebody help me survey the ground, so I can find out if it is stable enough to build on?".
