CU confirmed here, just making it official. Good hand/bad hand editing [1] [2], time wasting trolling over warnings. Really, I don't know what the end game is, but it's clearly not good. Opening the SPI to dot all the Ts and cross all the Is and get everything documented. Thanks. ScottishFinnishRadish ( talk) 10:55, 29 March 2022 (UTC) reply

Ugh, this is a mess. In short, there was a (presumptive) joe-job, followed by an accidental username transcription error, which I failed to catch when blocking. See the longish thread at Special:Permalink/1080317944#Blocked for sockpuppetry for details. Filing this pro-forma. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:05, 31 March 2022 (UTC) reply

This comment on one of their socks asking the account to be unblocked makes it pretty obvious they are a Unicorn123SL sock, plus their poor grammar and other weird edits (see contribs). 47.227.95.73 ( talk) 23:58, 22 August 2022 (UTC) reply

On 11 October 2023, User:Democfest was blocked indefinitely. Two weeks later User:Leftregister made their first edit. Leftregister's primary areas of editing have been on articles about Australian buildings, cities, emergency services and transport (often, but not always, around the placement and quality of images), all areas in which Democfest edited extensively.

Democrest was keen on replacing infobox images with montages in Australian cities, e.g. Wollongong, Leftregister has done so at Geelong and Hobart.

Comparing Leftregister's edits to Democfest's edits, all of the former account's top ten edits, ( New South Wales Police Force, List of tallest buildings in Sydney, Central Coast (New South Wales), Gosford, Perth, Wollongong, New South Wales Rural Fire Service, Hobart, Canberra and Sydney) have previously been edited on multiple occasions by the latter account, with the three in italics in both top tens.

Not that the block here applies to other Wikimedia projects, but a giveaway is that on Commons, Democfest's last edit on 27 November was to edit an image with Crop Tool 1.5, a tool the editor used extensively. Leftregister used the same tool for the first time 18 hours later and has continued to use regularly, including within the last two days. Dvzk ( talk) 13:45, 6 April 2024 (UTC) reply
