Suspected sockpuppets

User:Kurdiyate352 was blocked as a result of this ANI report on July 3. User:Cityaram365 began editing on July 7 and immediately returned to one of Kurdiyate352's disputes with User:Semsûrî at Kifri. Both Kurdiyate352 and Cityaram365 are preoccupied with populations in several Iraqi towns. In addition to the similar username formats, here are some specific edits connecting these two accounts:

Because Kurdiyate352's first edits were to their User, User Talk, and Sandbox pages, I suspect that account was also created to circumvent a block, so I'm requesting that a CheckUser look for previous accounts. Woodroar ( talk) 00:18, 8 July 2020 (UTC) reply

The account AwaZorroAp was created and four minutes later requested a semi protected edit to remove specific information on page Altun Kupri [5] that previous sockpuppets of Kurdiyate352 had disagreed with and edit warred over, like 68.AleemcaseyToby [6] [7] [8] , Talkativeness [9] [10] [11]. 3Oh Hexelon and Abodiyar were other Kurdiyate352 sockpuppets who tried to remove information on the page related to Kurds [12] [13]. User كركوك عراقي and ip 5.25.166.255 are other accounts that have tried to remove the information as well [14] [15] [16], and have similar interests to the other Kurdiyate352 sockpuppets in the vein of Iraqi-Turkmen and Kurdish articles [17] [18]. They were also both only active for the same short period of time, كركوك عراقي from March 7-17 and 5.25.166.255 from March 11-13. Sorry if I messed something up, this is my first time filing a Sockpuppet investigation thing. Ericfood ( talk | contribs) 16:25, 8 April 2021 (UTC) reply

Suspected sockpuppets

I suspect this is a sock of 3Oh Hexelon for two reasons. One is pattern since it's the same articles that are being disrupted. Secondly, its the same type of anti-Kurdish POV-push (which clearly comes to show here with the removal of 'Kurdish principality' [19]

I would argue that showing page history is better as evidence (than diffs) since it'll give the clerk a clearer sense of my suspicion. Here are the main articles that both 3Oh Hexelon and WakaWakaQdh have edited:

  • I've been watching these articles since at least 2019, and when its disruption season, it tends to be the same type of behavior, i.e. attempting to minimize the historical/current Kurdish link to these settlements. Similarity in edits include:
  1. Questioning census numbers on the Kurdish population
    1. 3Oh Hexelon added this note in the Jalawla article back in 2020 [20] and thier sock account removed info on the 1947 census [21]. WakaWakaQdh made this edit at Altun Kupri [22] recently.
  2. Similar attitudes toward the Disputed territories
    1. Sock وزظزو made these edits [23] [24] [25] while WakaWakaQdh made at least one similar removal, i.e. [26]
  3. "Syntax"
    1. Same concerns for alphabetization and syntax clean up. '3Oh Hexelon' had many edits with 'syntax' in the edit summary including [27] while WakaWakaQdh recently had this [28]
  4. Moving info about historic Kurdish population from introduction to history section
    1. [29] v. [30]

An empty claim with no real evidence to support it. You're the one with a pro-Kurdish POV push, and this is clear in your edits. I have merely reinstated sourced information about Iraqi, Arab and Turkmen settlements which you removed for blatantly obvious racial reasons to propagate a Kurdish agenda. I have no relation to the other user in question, and all my edits are carried out with dignity in an attempt to make the articles fair and based on unbiased sources, which is obviously the opposite of whatever you are doing. WakaWakaQdh ( talk) 17:35, 3 January 2022 (UTC) reply

You should report me then. This is about an Sockpuppet investigation on you. -- Semsûrî ( talk) 17:46, 3 January 2022 (UTC) reply
1) You are claiming I am the sockpuppet of another user and citing articles which I haven't even edited before ( Kifri).
2) Many of the towns' articles you cite don't even have a historical Kurdish link, yet you relentlessly keep trying to assert that they do, even claiming that Altun Kupri is '70% Kurdish' and a 'Kurdish settlement' (which is obviously not true, it has a Turkmen name, and its population is predominantly Turkmen and always has been in recorded history, and all the Wikimedia pictures depict its Turkmen traditions and monuments. Kurdish irredentist politicians such as Ihsan Mohammed aren't reliable sources.) Plenty of others have taken notice of your pro-Kurdish Wikipedia agenda, and other people have raised concerns about this - this doesn't equal sockpuppetry. Have you ever actually thought that your perspective is not entirely reliable?
3) Historical information about the population of a town belongs in the history section. That's why it exists...
4) Many of my edits you cited were genuine improvements and concerns by me. Any additions I make to articles are based on references and sources. Just because they have been voiced by other users doesn't mean you should try to ban them and accuse them of sockpuppetry with no evidence. Wikipedia is about cooperation, not intolerance and ignorance, and attacking anyone that doesn't support your view. WakaWakaQdh ( talk) 19:58, 3 January 2022 (UTC) reply

  •  Additional information needed: @ Semsûrî: You've shown that they share a POV, but many people share this POV. Could you please provide diffs showing, based either on their content, circumstances, edit-summary style or similar, why this is sockpuppetry rather than just two people with the same POV?
@ WakaWakaQdh: Please limit your response to responding to the allegation that you are a sockpuppet. If you have concerns about Semsûrî's behavior, you can take them to Wikipedia:Administrator's noticeboard/Incidents, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view/Noticeboard, or Wikipedia:Arbitration enforcement (see WP:ARBKURDS). • One must be wary in a case like this, because these are all logical things for someone with this POV to do. However, the shared tactic of moving things from the lede to the history section and the overlap on some very low-visibility articles like Kifri District, Sulaymaniyah Governorate, currently a two-sentence microstub, is sufficiently suspicious to justify a check.  Clerk endorsed. To the reviewing checkuser, I note that, per this block log entry, it looks like this Kurdiyate352 is actually SanFranBanned user King kong92 ( SPI), but I see no discussion of that in the archive. That's something we can clear up once this filing is resolved (one way or another), but noting it now in case there's information about King kong92 worth comparing to in a check. -- Tamzin cetacean needed (she/they) 22:51, 3 January 2022 (UTC) reply

Same articles of interest. I believe strongly that this is a sockpuppet of Kurdiyate352 because of one very specific behaviour being the desire to move information about the historic Kurdish presence from the introduction of of an article to its history section. Not true. I have only been aware of the article you are referring to ( Sadiyah) today as it was subject to disruptive editing. There was a clause in the introduction which clearly referred to the political history of the city, and I believed that a statement concerning the history of the city would surely be more appropriate in the history section. Apart from editing the same range of topics and even the same articles, they somehow manage to find a thread among countless others on Talk:Kirkuk posted by a blocked sock, House of tabooleh, and agree with them completely. They happen to be edit-warring on Sulaiman Bek, an article that was previously subject to edit-warring with regard to the same POV by various IPs and globally locked accounts. On Al-Bayati, shortly after an IP restores House of Tabooleh's reverted insertions, Mteiritay "expands" article a few days later in the very same manner as the IP with OR or poor sources. Aintabli ( talk) 18:05, 26 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Another "coincidence": Blocked sock Ibnquhis "expands" a template with the exact same edit summary which Mteiritay and previous socks and IPs have incessantly used. They have linked Al-Bayati there, a page that Mteiritay has recently edited as pointed out above, which includes the addition of the aforementioned template. Aintabli ( talk) 18:11, 26 April 2024 (UTC) reply
I couldn't add all the socks to the interaction utility, but this might still give an idea. Mteiritay's very first edit to English Wikipedia was Uday Hussein, a popular article among the socks (aka sock magnet). Among many others, a confirmed sock 3Oh Hexelon appears to have made 23 edits to that article. Aintabli ( talk) 18:34, 26 April 2024 (UTC) reply

  •  On hold - I've still got some researching I want to do, but I need to transition to sleep mode so I'll come back to this tomorrow. -- RoySmith (talk) 05:12, 4 January 2022 (UTC) reply
  • This took longer than I expected to sort out, but the bottom line is there's no reason to keep this on hold any more, so closing. -- RoySmith (talk) 01:53, 10 January 2022 (UTC) reply

Suspected sockpuppets

Same articles of interest. I believe strongly that this is a sockpuppet of Kurdiyate352 because of one very specific behaviour being the desire to move information about the historic Kurdish presence from the introduction of of an article to its history section. See [31] compared to the fourth section under 3 January 2022. Semsûrî ( talk) 22:40, 15 May 2023 (UTC) reply

Not true. I have only been aware of the article you are referring to ( Sadiyah) today as it was subject to disruptive editing. There was a clause in the introduction which clearly referred to the political history of the city, and I believed that a statement concerning the history of the city would surely be more appropriate in the history section. Yes you reverted the IP but then proceeded to move the content from the introduction. Semsûrî ( talk) 11:49, 16 May 2023 (UTC) reply

Suspected sockpuppets
