The result of the discussion was: WP:SNOW keep and a WP:TROUT for time-wasting. MFD isn't Editor Review Mark II or an offshoot of VPP and isn't the place to discuss your personal interpretation of policy; if you do not actually want this deleted then don't waste the time of multiple people who have better things to do by nominating it for deletion. ‑  Iridescent 03:53, 21 March 2017 (UTC) reply

This is a procedural nomination. I do not actually want this deleted, which is why I'm doing this rather than U1. But if I have a reputation for being a lunatic when it comes to A7, it's rather ironic that this exists. I would like the community's opinion on whether this is worth keeping. • Keep - while Adam's views on A7 deletion may be slightly outside the norm (at least, as far as I can tell from their talk page history) it's not like you can delete someone's personal philosophies. At least by having the page we have a reference point to see why some of the A7s are being declined. As a suggestion, maybe this should be linked in your A7-decline edit summaries? • @ Primefac: I think it's more than slightly, judging by a lot of it! But, I'm not sure if putting this in edit summaries is practical. I've recently taken to using WP:CSDH, and I'm not sure if the title will fit or it might make the edit summary too long. If I am to do that, maybe I should create more shortcuts? I did put a notice at the top of my talk page, but maybe people are missing it? Should I make it bigger? Adam9007 ( talk) 18:02, 19 March 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Keep. not that far out that it is contradictory to policy, and it is worded so as not to be misleading. Individual views should be encouraged. I recall that when I posted on my Citizendium user page a criticism of some of Citizendium's policies (that articles must be Family-friendly) Larry Sanger told me he would remove me if I did not remove it. I did remove it, but very soon stopped active participation. DGG ( talk ) 06:25, 20 March 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Keep as a misuse of this board :) some might say, that it is not the essay that should be under discussion, but rather Adam9007's hypothetical WP:TBAN from A7s. And this is not the venue ;) — O Fortuna! Imperatrix mundi. 07:11, 20 March 2017 (UTC) reply
    • The two are closely related, as this is supposed to be a reflexion of my application of A7. If there's a problem with that, there's a problem with this essay, as it's about the application of policy. Adam9007 ( talk) 17:38, 20 March 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Keep per FIM. Wrong venue for this. I'd suggest the closer note in the close if this is kept that this is not an endorsement of the.views held in the essay, which seems to be what was wanted here. MfD is too obscure to have a conversation about this. TonyBallioni ( talk) 13:14, 20 March 2017 (UTC) reply
    • I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm seeking endorsement: I think the general opinion of this is clear. The point here is if that is the view held, should this essay exist? Some have basically said that I had no business writing it in the first place :(. I am seeking neither endorsement or rejection: I simply felt I had little choice but to do something like this, given recent discussions. Adam9007 ( talk) 17:38, 20 March 2017 (UTC) reply
      • While I disagree strongly with some of your views, and if I recall some of the other commenters here do as well, I don't think any of us want to see your views as expressed in a userspace essay censored. This is clearly going to be kept at this point. I think the best outcome here would be for this to be withdrawn or SNOW closed, and if you want a discussion about people's views on this, to move it to the talk page of the essay or keep it going on your user talk. TonyBallioni ( talk) 18:23, 20 March 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Keep. Essays are user's opinions. See User:Ritchie333/SPI considered harmful (which'll brass off a few admins - hah!) and User:Ritchie333/Plain and simple guide to vandalism (which'll brass of a few admin wannabaes - double hah!) Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:53, 20 March 2017 (UTC) reply
    • Hmm... I'd be surprised if there aren't those who'd think I had a nerve in writing this, given my reputation (whether I have it deservedly or not). Adam9007 ( talk) 17:38, 20 March 2017 (UTC) reply
