pseudo-"template" which just adds a category to pages. It's therefore in the wrong namespace thrice over. I've no idea whether these "WikiProject FA" templates are commonplace or not, but even if they are there must be a more sensible way to implement them.

Delete - when created it added an icon to the page but that both clashed with other icons and made it seem as if MathProject FAs (i.e. articles featured on the project) were as recognised as regular GAs and FAs, which they're not, so it was removed. Without it this could easily be handled by a category.--

Move to template space, or to a WikiProject subpage, or be sure to apply [[Category:Featured articles on Mathematics Portal]] to each of the 37 pages in the category. It seems like a reasonable use of categorisation, awkwardly implemented. Certainly listify the category before deleting the template and thus depopulating the category. --

The sensible way of implementing this request would be to substitute the transclusions before deletion, which I agree is the right close here. That leaves the category on each page while ridding them of a weird templatey thing.
