The result of the debate was keep for now. Given the potential of this topic (as noted below), it looks as if this nomination has actually stirred up enough interest in and improvements to the portal to let it stay. —  TKD:: Talk 05:26, 3 December 2007 (UTC) reply

Portal:Computer networking

This portal page doesn't link to any other portal pages, has only the one section of content, and thus doesn't even remotely conform to the standards of portals. It also hasn't been modified since February, and the creator hasn't been active since January. John Carter ( talk) 17:11, 21 November 2007 (UTC) reply

  • Whoa! Computer networking is a big topic and I'm surprised it has such a sorry excuse for a page as a portal. Or maybe it already exists and this one should just be redirected? Maybe Wikipedia:WikiProject Computer networking could take over it's maintenance? I'll drop them a note. Миша 13 19:48, 26 November 2007 (UTC) reply
  • Delete As strange as it may seem given the interesting topic, this portal is inactive, incomplete, and malformed. If new editors come forward, they could just as easily recreate as request restoration, for there is almost nothing here. Xoloz ( talk) 13:48, 28 November 2007 (UTC) reply
    • In fact, it looked like this at the moment of nomination. Then I stepped in and recreated it using {{ subst:box portal skeleton}} and am now slowly filling the subpages with content,c hoping someone else will come and give a helping hand soon. Миша 13 19:56, 29 November 2007 (UTC) reply
  • Keep It has a good start, but needs a little upkeep. I'll stick it on the community portal to see if anyone else can mess with it. Tavix 23:21, 30 November 2007 (UTC) reply
  • Keep: The portal just requires a little development to bring it up to standard. Mouchoir le Souris 11:30, 1 December 2007 (UTC) reply
    • I have since made some improvements to the portal, so that it is more complete. Mouchoir le Souris 13:22, 1 December 2007 (UTC) reply
