Braemar Castle Editathon in a nutshell:
|
This editathon has been organised by Braemar Castle and Museums Galleries Scotland. Braemar Castle is a wonderful heritage site with a fascinating history. This Wikipedia editathon is a chance for volunteers at the castle (and any other interested parties) to learn how to edit Wikipedia, and use their knowledge to add to the encyclopedia. Are there female Jacobites who are missing from Wikipedia? Can we improve their pages? Are there items held in the castle that deserve an article of their own?
Please ensure to register for an account before the event. If too many accounts are created from the same IP address on the evening of the event, the IP address will be blocked.
Training will be given in how to edit Wikipedia, followed by a period of editing. We suggest topics connected to the Jacobites - or anything else connected to Braemar's history! Sara Thomas, our trainer, will be working with the castle to take pictures to upload to Wikimedia Commons. Wikipedia particularly welcomes content concerning women.
Should you like to attend, please email Laura, info@braemarcastle.co.uk
The trainer for the event will be Sara Thomas, Wikimedian in Residence at Museums Galleries Scotland.
