The Graphics Lab is a project to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. Requests for image improvements can be added to the workshop pages:
Illustrations,
Photographs and
Maps. For questions or suggestions one can use the talk pages:
Talk:Graphics Lab,
Talk:Illustrations,
Talk:Photographs and
Talk:Maps. This specific page is the requests page for the illustration workshop. Anyone can make a request for an illustration to be improved or created for a Wikipedia article. Clicking the "New Request" button will bring you to a standard template for submitting requests, as well as general advice that should be followed.
Advice to requesters
All requests:
Please make sure your
request is "legitimate" by copyright. If the image(s) are in the public domain or freely licensed, you are fine. If the image(s) are "Fair use", there are only certain things we can do with them without falling afoul of Wikipedia's fair-use policies.
If you are requesting assistance with a copyright or fair-use image, don't display it on this page; place {{
GLNF|Example.png|caption|align=left}} to create a link to it. Do not add the File: extension.
Ourfair-use policy does not allow displaying fair-use images out of their articles on ANY account.
Please check back regularly to see if progress has been made or if any additional questions need to be answered before the request can be completed.
If a request is done to your satisfaction, please mark it with {{resolved}}.
SVG requests:
Make sure your request can actually BE vectorized. Note that vector drawings are not suitable for certain applications. We generally use
SVG format for icons, logos, drawings, maps, flags, and such. Certain things, photographs especially, are totally impossible to vectorize.
Per our
non-free content policy, vectorization of copyrighted images is not permitted. If a vectorized non-free image is desired, seek out such an image from the copyright holder.

QuickQuokka: Thank you, and sorry for the delay in responding. Well, all three designs originate from BBC Derby. According to the
original website, the designer of the
original concept was Leon Summers, with BBC Derby modifying his submission to create what was known as "Design 3". Which is also exactly what BBC Derby did with
Martin Enright's submission, modifying it to create "Design 1" (which was of course chosen as Derbyshire's flag). Hence, I'd recommend giving the new file the same CR tag as "Design 1". Hope this helps.

QuickQuokka: Good point, and profuse apologies for the excessively long delay in getting back to you. Well, I certainly don't pretend to be an expert on CR licenses on Wikipedia. The impression I've gotten is that the uploader wanted to waive their rights to the file, but went about it the wrong way, resulting in using a license that creates a slight bit of confusion. After considering it all, I'd now recommend giving the new file the "Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported", in order to cover the same bases while making it clear that the uploader is not the original designer. Hope this helps.

A note: the coat of arms of Magalhães should certainly be red and silver (argent and gules), not red and gold, as the one given as Ferdinand Magellan's in the engraving above; but
the arms of Ferdinand Magellan himself are disputed. They are clearly described in his last will and testament as those of Magalhães and Sousa, but no one knows for sure which Sousa:
ancient (most likely),
Arronches, or
Prado.

I need an diagram that shows where various members of the British Cabinet were sleeping when the Brighton bomb went off, and the what happened when it went off (primarily the pathway of the falling chimney stack which did most of the damage). There are two press images (
here and
here) that give the information and the outline of the hotel exterior. I may be able to dig out some images from books etc that I can email across if necessary too. Thanks -

Proposed flags of the Black Country (2012)
Current flag of the Black Country, which was "Design A" among the competition finalists.
Would anybody be able to please create SVG files for the other five finalists from the 2012 competition held to establish an official regional flag for the
Black Country? They can all be seen as part of
this image here, with "Design B" in the upper-right, "Design C" the middle-left, "Design D" the middle-right, "Design E" the lower-left, and "Design F" the lower-right. Thanks.

Please vectorize the first flag. The pigeon is drawn as best as possible, but due to the poor quality of the source, it is certainly different from the original. You can leave it like that, especially since it ignores copyright issues.

The state flag of New Hampshire. The wreath and stars surrounding the seal (which, keep in mind, is not quite the same as the version of the seal to the left) could also be used in the creation of the new file.
Can someone please create an SVG file for the flag of the New Hampshire State Police, as seen
here? Thanks.

A good .svg candidate, it seems to me. The version on the left, with motto, can be seen on the Nevada ANG LinkedIn (
https://www.linkedin.com/company/nevada-air-national-guard). The version on the right, a higher definition file without motto, was already on Wikimedia. I also notice the file already on Wikimedia has a different colored sage branch behind the hawk. I'd defer to the version actually used by the Nevada ANG online.
