- Oppose perspective distortions (@Rmhermen: because of them), strange bottom crop and tight cropped at right, could be larger for a 12 MP camera --

Perspective distortion is inherent to how we see the world, and fully corrected as in the edit makes the building look wider at the top than normal. In fact making the walls all vertical is a more distorted view than normal. We already had this kind of experiment at
File:Chateau de Maintenon v2.jpg and
File:Chateau de Maintenon.jpg. I agree the bottom crop is not ideal, but is a minor point IMO. --
