Note: It appears I deleted this in the same minute it was placed on hold for review. I'm hesitant to restore a copyvio, so I hope this does not disenfranchise the non-admin reviewers here. The original addition of text ( here) was an unformatted cut&paste of the author's "official" site, which seems to indicate a creation date of 2004 (which is consistent with the out of date text in the submission; that is, the bio ends in 2004). Later corrections to typos are not picked up on the other site, so the mirroring would need to have occurred very quickly if that was the case. This seemed to be a long undetected cut&pasta; apologies if I deleted too quickly. Kuru (talk) 00:51, 27 December 2010 (UTC) reply
  • Copyright concerns remain. Article deleted. We don't really have many non-admin reviewers come through here, although they are always welcome when they do! Thanks for explaining how you know this is not a reverse infringement nevertheless; we occasionally get questions about CP actions even years after the closure, and where issues may appear borderline the explanation can be helpful if we do. -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:10, 4 January 2011 (UTC) reply

  • History of Miami Hurricanes football ( history · last edit) from [1]. We have been through this before. Most of the article Miami Hurricanes football was copied from the University's football media guide around 2006. Unbeknownst to me, that article was copied over to History of Miami Hurricanes football on June 27, 2009. In October 2009, I discovered the copyright problem and the history sections of the Miami Hurricanes football article were rewritten from a number of sources. The copying in the History of Miami Hurricanes football is foundational, and although there have been some recent edits, mostly of recent history, the article is very tainted, and this is merely a derivative work. The article reeks of boosterism and probably should be deleted. I have applied a copyvio template. Racepacket ( talk) 12:33, 27 December 2010 (UTC) reply
  • Article cleaned by investigator or others. No remaining infringement. Blanked for a week with no action by other interested contributors and there is no doubt that the content was derivative as at base it was copied from official publications without permission. I have replaced it with content copied from the main article and will trust that article's regular editors to summarize what remains, since the article is far too long. -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:24, 4 January 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Article cleaned by investigator or others. No remaining infringement. Seems to have been a multiparty effort probably by students or staff to expand the article over some time, with waves of copied content. Reverted back to the last presumed clean. -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:23, 4 January 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Article cleaned by investigator or others. No remaining infringement. This one was a tangled mess of content pasted from news sources, complicated by the fact that a contributor had removed the copyright tag and restored the content to publication. I have identified and removed substantial copied content and am now tracing its origin to make sure that the person who pasted it here is aware of our policies. -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:25, 4 January 2011 (UTC) reply
