Delete another "about" category. Also, race is in the eye of the beholder. Note the inclusion of I Love Lucy category here. Is it Wikipedia's policy that Latinos are of a different race than White people, despite the Census Bureau of the United States stating otherwise? Seems a little like Apartheid - but the way political winds are blowing we're being marginalized by other institutions, why not WP? smh

Purge Yeah this is another example of where in film television where the category becomes too dense due to the entries having different amount of use in their plot. Yiu can have one film where it is only mentioned sparsley in the plot like
The Jeffersons but then have a film where it is central conflict or a key characteristic to the primary and secondary characters like in the film
Jungle Fever. There should be a general standard to what can be considered important to the plot to be included in said category. I'm neutral to the renaming though.

Nominator's rationale: I think they are all in the Moldovan journalists category. Being a member of the union is not really defining and most of the articles dont mention the union.

Nominator's rationale: Considerable overlap and nearly identical names.
macOS is the current term for this particular operating system, so all content should be merged in that direction Ten Pound Hammer • (

Oppose, the two operating systems were very different, and
Category:Classic Mac OS software does not belong within the current
Category:macOS software. Note that there are various sub-categories called "Mac OS" which themselves contain "Classic Mac OS" and "macOS" sub-cats and should also have been included in the nomination. I agree that there is a problem with the category names being nearly identical, so I suggest renaming to
Category:Macintosh software, like the sub-cats
Category:Macintosh software stubs and
Category:Macintosh game covers. Other sub-cats with "Mac OS" in the name (but not "Classic Mac OS") should likewise be renamed from "Mac OS" to "Macintosh". "Mac" on its own should also be expanded to "Macintosh". However, the parent
Category:Mac OS should now be renamed to
Category:Macintosh operating systems, per its main article
Macintosh operating systems. The full list for renaming is therefore:
Oppose, per what
Fayenatic said. There have been two main lines of OS for Macintosh, the
classic Mac OS line and the
Mac OS X/OS X/macOS line, with the latter being a completely different OS that has, earlier in its history, offered various mechanisms for running software for the former (the
Classic Environment, which ran classic Mac OS binaries inside a simulated classic Mac OS, and
Carbon plus
Preferred Executable Format (PEF) support in Launch Services (if Boring Old exec() fails, Launch Services would run a "PEF runner" program and hand it the file), which allowed application developers to build binaries that would run natively on both the classic Mac OS and Mac OS X). If using "Mac OS" to refer collectively to both OSes is confusing people, then replacing it with "Macintosh" seems a reasonable fix.
Yes, for the character encodings, "Mac OS" -> "Classic Mac OS" makes sense; they're only used in macOS for backwards compatibility (less important over time).

Support. I think the exact century of the plot is hardly
WP:DEFINING in this case, as it is just intended to happen somewhere in the far future, all the events being speculative and unrelated to the century itself.
