I have been editing and creating pages on Wikipedia every day for years. I already have access to Jstor and quote academic articles accordingly to improve or create articles. By having access to Cairn, I could add in-line references to more articles. I would focus on French and francophone history (ancient regime, slavery in Haiti, colonialism in Africa and Indochina, etc.), French politics and literature (for example, academic articles about American literature written by French scholars).

Andrew Dalby(
talk·contribs·central auth·count·email) Editor since 2005. Many edits on en:wiki and some on fr: and other languages, but I usually edit on Vicipaedia (Latin) where I am an admin. I especially work to make la:wiki a handy source of bibliographies and links (hence more useful to speakers of other languages too). I often cite JSTOR journals (via my membership of the London Library), here and on la:, and I could make good use of Cairn.info in the same way. I'll make sure that citations on la:wiki follow guidelines equivalent to those above.

Jamesmcardle(
talk·contribs·central auth·count·email)A contributor since 2006, I am particularly interested in researching French photography and photographers, for whom there is limited material in English. As a WPL Coordinator in outreach and communication, access to, and familiarity with, this resource will assist my volunteer work in those areas.

-EliasZ09:26, 16 December 2015 (UTC)reply
Nattes à chat(

I am present on the encyclopedia (mostly French, and in lesser extent the english since 2012, while contributing much more regularly in the context of managing a project attached to reducing the gender gap. Getting access to academic sources is of paramount importance to source the articles, especially since women are much less mediatized. --

madalibi(
talk·contribs·central auth·count·email). I have done more than 14,000 edits on WP since 2008. I edit mostly on Chinese history, but also on topics related to the social sciences, medical history, and the history of science, all of which are covered in this database. In a few minutes, I was already able to find an article on the transmission from Korea and China to Japan of "knowledge" (savoirs) concerning
acupuncture and
moxibustion (from the 2013 issue of Extrême-Orient – Extrême-Occident) that will add to my working draft on the
History of acupuncture and moxibustion. I'm sure I can find many other relevant sources in journals like Annales. Histoire, Sciences Sociales and various books that Cairn also makes available. Thank you for your consideration!
