Function overview: Removes "living=yes, blp=yes" Replaces it with living=no and similar from article talk pages, if the article is no longer a BLP.
Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Automatic
Source code available: AWB find&replace
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate):
Edit period(s): When needed
Estimated number of pages affected: ~5000
Namespace(s): Talk
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): Yes
Function details: When people die, their articles are often quickly updated. However, the talk pages are often forgotten and continue to have the
|living=yes parameter in the wikiproject banners even though they are no longer alive, meaning the article is marked as BLP even though it is no longer one. All pages linked from
Wikipedia:Database reports/Potential biographies of dead people (3) will be affected, i checked around 300 articles there and haven't found any false positives. (all having living=yes but are not actually living)
The Regex script finds all instances of |living=yes or |blp=yes in an article's talk page and deletes them. I have tested it extensively and it works just fine, not too much is deleted and no blank lines are left.
Approved for trial (50 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Bot has been added to AWB Checkpage, will get bot flag if approved.
