Ravenswing: I have left a comment at
Talk:Black–Derman–Toy model pointing editors there to this merge proposal, as I believe should be a required part of the process whenever a merge is proposed in an AfD. To do otherwise risks a conflicting outcome where the consensus here is to merge and the consensus among regular editors of that article is that the biographical material about Toy does not belong in that article and should not be merged, leading them to undo the merge and jeopardizing the result of the AfD. —

Redirect, no merge. There's a little non-trivial personal coverage of him in Derman's My Life as a Quant but not enough by itself for
general notability. All the rest of the coverage that I can find of him merely mentions his name as one of the creators of the
Black–Derman–Toy model, a significant accomplishment but
only one thing. His
academic citation record shows huge citations for that one thing but not much else, and his co-editorship of The Handbook of Equity Derivatives isn't enough for
notability as a book author. No merge because the other information about him in this article isn't relevant for the redirect target. —
