The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the article below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the article's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this page.

The result was delete, snowball clause. Given the state of the article and the lack of any sourcing or otherwise useful material for an article, I don't see how this article, in its current form, will be improved. — C.Fred ( talk) 21:40, 2 February 2016 (UTC) reply

I'm not sure there's a CSD for this. Wikipedia isn't Wikisource. I dream of horses ( My talk page) ( My edits) @ 01:55, 29 January 2016 (UTC) reply

  • Delete. I have always argued that there should be a speedy deletion criterion for pages that clearly were not intended to be an encyclopedia article. Maybe you could say that this was created in error? -- Notecardforfree ( talk) 03:40, 29 January 2016 (UTC) reply
  • Delete. Not WikiSource, and the title doesn't really make sense. There is no "Jewish Version" of Genesis, although there are of course Jewish (as opposed to Christian) translations of it, i.e. translations carried out by Jewish translators and informed by Jewish theology. • Speedy delete - Would WP:G2 for test edit apply here? There definitely should be a CSD for obviously not encyclopedic pages like this. FuriouslySerene ( talk) 14:34, 29 January 2016 (UTC) reply
  • Delete. This has no citations. Among other problems. TomS TDotO ( talk) 05:39, 30 January 2016 (UTC) reply
  • Delete - this article is unnecessary. - BobKilcoyne ( talk) 07:32, 30 January 2016 (UTC) reply

Yes there is a Jewish version I mean by not christian but jewish genesis and it it is an english translation — Preceding unsigned comment added by Awesomedjh ( talkcontribs) 16:58, 30 January 2016 (UTC) reply

There isn't a separate "Jewish version" of Genesis per se. Many Christians accept the Masoretic Text of Genesis, which is exactly the same Hebrew text as Jews use. Jewish and Christians translations may at times have somewhat different slants, but the underlying Hebrew text is identical. (The story gets more complicated when we consider other texts such as the Septuagint, but even then it remains the case that saying there is a "Jewish version" and a "Christian version" is a vast oversimplification.) • Speedy delete This is not an encyclopedic article, but apparently, an amateurish attempt at a translation written from a non-neutral POV. MjolnirPants Tell me all about it. 00:17, 31 January 2016 (UTC) reply
  • Comment I've requested a block on the user's account. There's a history of disruptive edits, of which this article is just a piece. 2601:188:0:ABE6:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 ( talk) 20:22, 31 January 2016 (UTC) reply
  • Delete: There is insufficient content here to warrant a separate article and I don't see enough potential for sufficient content to be provided. If there is notable content, it would seem most appropriate to have it placed on the Book of Genesis article. As a side note, I removed a recently added "this page created by..." statement at the bottom per WP:OWN. Chrisw80 ( talk) 20:37, 31 January 2016 (UTC) reply
