To me, the question is if he played a significant role in the Iraq War troop surge of 2007, since the two references in the subject WP article are meant to show this (the book and the Washington Post article). However, neither Cook nor the 'amnesty' program discussed in the book and article are covered in the present version or the WP article on the surge. There is not enough significance to link from that article to this one. Therefore it fails qualification number five in the notability essay WP:SOLDIER]. - ¢Spender1983 ( talk) 06:50, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
