Fails
WP:NGRIDIRON. Never played professionally and was not a notable college football player. Only sigcov I can find was
this, which is a "local player tries out for local team" human interest article you see whenever a non-drafted local player tries out for their local NFL team.

Borderline, leaning delete. Gaines was a four-year starter at defensive back for a Division I FBS program (albeit not Power Five), and he did receive some significant coverage. E.g., (1) "
Navy never at loss with Parrish Gaines at safety", Capital Gazette, 12/6/14; (2) "
Smyrna's Gaines trying to make Titans roster", The Daily News Journal, 5/17/15; (3) "
Navy Co-Captain Parrish Gaines: 'We'll Prove Ourselves This Year'", Pressbox, September 15, 2014 (not sure if Pressbox is a reliable source); and (4) "
Parrish Gaines: Always Striving To Be The Best", Navysports.com, 11/9/14 (probably not regarded as independent). Because the last two sources are questionable in terms of a GNG analysis, we are left with the first two, and both of those are from mid- to smaller-market publications. Also, not finding any significant coverage of him in major metropolitan dailies (e.g., The Baltimore Sun) or regional/national outlets (e.g., ESPN.com). If other/better examples of significant coverage in reliable, independent sources are found, I could be persuaded to switch to a 'keep' vote.
