Expand While seeming like a Wiktionary definition now, I think it could be expanded to be an actual in-depth article. Sorry if anybody disagrees with this. Have a good day. Tvshowoflife ( talk) 18:57, 8 March 2023 (UTC) reply

It is a potentially useful flip side to nostalgia: an assessment of the past as essentially negative, and of the future as an opportunity to rectify its limitations. Thus, following earlier writers, we see the concept as 'useful in analysing the way organisational members reverse the positive/negative temporal division and see the past as an era to be escaped from, and the new, more positive one, actively embraced' (Strangleman, 1999, p. 727–728).
