Former American football coach. After a deletion at AfD 9 years ago ( Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Pappas, note the apparently wrong double "p") and a recent recreation, Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2020 August 29 decided to send the article back to AfD to re-determine the subject's notability. This is a procedural nomination, I am neutral. Sandstein 17:05, 6 September 2020 (UTC) reply

  • Delete one year as lead football coach at a small college does not make one notable. John Pack Lambert ( talk) 13:17, 9 September 2020 (UTC) reply
  • Keep Meets GNG per [1] [2] [3] [4]. ~ EDDY ( talk/ contribs)~ 12:26, 11 September 2020 (UTC) reply
  • Keep passews GNG as per the sources cited in the article and particularly the four cited above by Editorofthewiki. While it is true that one year as lead football coach at a small college does not make one notable, it also does not make one non-notable if there has been significant coverage. Coverage from the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, and ESPN takes this beyond what a "small college" coach might be expected to get. DES (talk) DESiegel Contribs 20:56, 11 September 2020 (UTC) reply
The Hall of Fame position is also significant for notability. DES (talk) DESiegel Contribs 20:58, 11 September 2020 (UTC) reply
