Keep. I do not see how
WP:BIODEL or
WP:BLPPUBLIC can be applied. As per the
referencing in the article and a
WP:BEFORE search, the subject is (verifiably) the primary topic of a volume of news and other articles (In the Irish Times, Irish Examiner, RTÉ, and other national news outlets.) If the subject is (now) a non-public figure, deleting this WP article wouldn't address the (relatively apparent) fact that there is significant coverage of the subject's (prior) relatively high-profile sporting career. (While BLP guidelines should, rightly, be applied to the article content,
WP:NGAELIC and
WP:SIGCOV are met for the title/article.
WP:NOTCENSORED also likely applies.)

Keep. This article passes
WP:NGAELIC and
WP:BASIC. The widespread coverage in this case indicates that the sportsperson who is the subject in this article was not a low-profile individual during his sporting years, so I'm not inclined to delete out of a privacy interest. —
