In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, establish a membership process for the chapter, review the upcoming Wiki-Conference New York 2009 (planned for ~100 people at NYU this summer) and future projects like Wikipedia at the Library, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the March meeting's minutes).
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and generally enjoy ourselves and kick back.

Star and Malleus: Can you look over the section on my talkpage called User talk:Keeper76#User page deletions? Am I totally in left field on this one? I haven't "adminned" in a few months, was clearing CSD (a no brainer), and now this otterathome guy is insisting that I'm a complete idiot and about to crash Wikipedia. Your opinion, regardless of whatever it is, will not result in a block of your account :-) Keeper | 76 17:43, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
I noticed that you rm some links to YouTube Video on the basis of copyright infringement. e.g. David Meerman Scott I can see why the video itself would be a problem, but can you point me to a ruling about why a link to a video is a problem? Thanks! Woz2 ( talk) 19:27, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for participating in my recent RfA, which was unable pass with a final tally of (45/39/9). I plan on addressing the concerns raised and working to improve in the next several months. Hopefully, if/when I have another RfA I will win your support. Special thanks go to MBisanz, GT5162, and MC10 for nominating me. Thanks again, - down load ׀ sign! 01:32, 13 May 2009 (UTC) |

Hi both. I agree, anything A-Rod is tainted. I do believe he isn't using them _now_ for the simple reason that if he was, he'd have tested positive alongside Manny, etc. I'm tired of the pomp and drama. OK, he's hitting when it matters not when it's 8-1 ie last year, but he's also hitting .143 because he's not doing anything but HRs. For all the jibber jabber about how Manny isn't going to the hall (which I don't believe - it's at *least* 7 years before he's eligible and a lot of this will be blwon over by then), what about the others/ I think they need to release all ~100 names on the list to really clean baseball. Honestly though, there are about ten people in MLB who it would truly surprise me if used steroids - Jeter being one, Morneau another. I remember watching him jack ones in Rochester. He treats every park like it's a little league park. He and Mauer scare me, hate facing them as much as Jason Bey/Youkilis because you never know what they're going to hit - all around hitters. Giambi, A-Rod, Teixeira, Swish.... Sure HRs are pretty but what about the other ABs? Don't get me wrong, I love watching the HRs but I'd rather a .300+ hitter with fewer HRs than .240 and 40 HRs. That's where I sometimes am puzzled by A-Rod because steroids can't give you the eyes/timing to hit for average -- but they can make you have the random power ala McGwire, Giambi, etc. I love Joba, always have, he's settling down. Watching AJ burnett is a puzzle, I can't get my head around him as a Yankee. Oh and Keep, didn't see this when I left your message -- should it be x3 now? Don't worry, not going tomorrow. Brew, you can root for the Yanks next weekend and I'll root for you -we;ve got Philly and you have the Sox. StarM 01:22, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: BackCountry Co, why do you feel this is advertising? It is an article regarding the dedicated open space in a community with regerences back to the County that it is in.}} Renaebomb ( talk) 20:20, 25 May 2009 (UTC)renaebomb
Regarding the speedy deletion of the article based on advertising, I request a re-evaluation. This article is based on a considerable section of dedicated open space in Douglas County Colorado. I had inserted the references to the Douglas County web site which confirms the notability of the BackCountry Wilderness Area. Did I just name the article wrong? Is there a way to change that? Please advise! This is a beautiful and well-used outdoor venue in the southern part of the Denver metro area that is for use by the general public as well as the residents who live in the area, and is notable and should be shared with the community. Thank you for your consideration 97.118.168.160 ( talk) 20:40, 25 May 2009 (UTC)renaebomb
The only references I was able to get into the article, before deletion, were the websites from Douglas County, not any organization website, which is a reliable secondary source. Perhaps I didn't get the references in the article correctly? Also, I will add the geographic location? I would appreciate being able to work on this at greater length in my userspace. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.118.168.160 ( talk) 22:52, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Hello, I have added some geographic location information for Backcountry, being situated in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and added a reference link. There are also two reference links into the Douglas County site referencing the area and uses for Backcountry - it is like a park/nature area. The article is information about the parks within, the nature trails, and the ecosystem of the park. Can this now be unblocked? Do you have any other recommendations? Thank you for youer help. 97.118.168.160 ( talk) 21:58, 27 May 2009 (UTC)renaebomb
