April 2007

Hi SnowyBadger (like the new name), I think you should probably take a look at WP:Categorization before adding a bunch more categories. Most of the categories you added to Downs' Zoological Gardens don't belong there. Only add the specific categories, not everything you can find related to zoos. Some of the categories you added are only container categories, others are parent categories for the subcategory already included, and articles only go in the list categories if the article itself is a list. Adding categories can be complicated at times, I was here for years before I ventured into adding them, always found them too confusing, and still avoid adding them if I'm not sure they belong. I'll see if I can find some additional categories that can be added. Cmr08 ( talk) 15:55, 17 April 2017 (UTC) reply

I was able to add one additional category to the article. By the way, I added your article to the Zoos in Nova Scotia template, and put it in the article. When you're trying to find categories to add to an article, you can always go to similar articles and see what categories they are in. That should give you some idea about what to include and what not to include. Cmr08 ( talk) 16:18, 17 April 2017 (UTC) reply
Thanks for your help and edits. I am going to have to review my categories more closely. I am currently working on "Andrew Downs" He sounds like an interesting cat and has been recognized around the world for his work. JBignell ( talk) 18:23, 17 April 2017 (UTC) reply

Not exactly sure why the old name comes up, but it's possible your old name is listed as your signature. Click "preferences" at the top of page, and under "User profile" go down to the third section titled "Signature" and see what's listed as your existing signature. If it says JBignell, then try putting SnowyBadger in the box and see what happens after you save. Now, what I'm telling you to do is basically just a guess, I may be 100% wrong. Cmr08 ( talk) 19:17, 17 April 2017 (UTC) reply

The article Gregory E. Lenehan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:ANYBIO. Most of the coverage is to do with the taxi driver case, not the lawyer himself.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. An article you recently created, Nictaux Community Centre Cemetery, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. ( ?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed ( verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Nictaux Community Centre Cemetery moved to draftspace

When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. b uidh e 19:26, 15 June 2020 (UTC) reply

Hello, SnowyBadger. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, " Nictaux Community Centre Cemetery".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian ( talk) 03:36, 16 December 2020 (UTC) reply

I noticed you removed some contributions I made to 'notable residents'

Hello Snowy Badger,

My name is Leah and I am a graduate student at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information, studying Archives and Records Management. On Oct 1, 6 and 8 of this year, it appears that you removed several entries I made in Middleton's 'notable residents' section. Just wondering what your reasoning was for that edit.

Thanks, Leah Hunter ( talk) 21:29, 9 November 2021 (UTC) reply

Hey Leah Hunter, I am not one to remove edits from Wikipedia? When I look at your additions I don't see a problem with them. You can just remove the changes and place the people on the list. Good luck with your studies, I am not the editor you are looking for.

List articles

Every entry in a list article must either have a Wikipedia article or a third-party citation. It is up to the restoring editor to add such a citation. See WP:BURDEN and WP:NOTDIR. Skyerise ( talk) 20:19, 14 March 2023 (UTC) reply

....then start adding citations to the content? Don't just delete the contact started? Snowy Badger ( talk) 20:20, 14 March 2023 (UTC) reply
Not my responsibility per WP:BURDEN. Feel free to move them to the talk page to discuss and find sources. Skyerise ( talk) 20:22, 14 March 2023 (UTC) reply
Most of this page should be deleted then.... Snowy Badger ( talk) 20:24, 14 March 2023 (UTC) reply
The international and national organizations are clearly notable. When it comes to clubs, they are probably mostly not notable. If they are not removed when they are unsourced, then everyone comes along and adds their own club thinking it's a directory. It's not, it's an index to Wikipedia articles per WP:LIST.
